Mom Shows Reality Of Giving Birth To Triplets With Raw Photos

I have one child and believe me when I say that he is a handful.

Sometimes I wonder what it would be like to have twins or triplets and I can't even imagine how much work parents of multiples have.

One mom of multiples is giving us insight into her life with beautiful and raw photos.

She's documented her pregnancy and postpartum journey for the world and it's starting important conversations on the reality of having triplets.

Maria Nordø Jørstad and her husband, Anders, are parents to their two-year-old son, Mikael.

When Maria discovered she was pregnant again, she had no idea how this news would change their lives.

At her first ultrasound, Maria learned that she was expecting triplets.

This came as a complete shock because Maria and Anders had conceived without any fertility treatments.

The chances of having spontaneous triplets are extremely rare.

In fact, according to Huggies, 85% of triplet babies are conceived through fertility treatment. That means there was only a 15% chance of this happening — but it did!

Since finding out the news, Maria began sharing photos of her pregnancy.

She documented her journey through the Instagram account @triplets_of_copenhagen. Photos of her baby bump quickly went viral and people began taking an interest in this growing family.

This progression photo shows how much Maria's body changed during pregnancy.

Every mom's pregnancy is unique and adjusting to a changing body can be difficult for some. By sharing these photos, Maria is helping other moms who are going through a similar experience.

She also shared some adorable photos of matching outfits she had prepared for her three little miracles!

Excuse me while I bask in the cuteness!

On September 12, 2018, the family welcomed their new members.

Maria gave birth to two girls named Agnes and Iben, and a boy named Filip.

Congrats! They are so beyond adorable.

I hope Maria knows she's making everyone's day a little bit brighter with photos of these three!

Maria continued posting updates about her postpartum life, sharing her pain and struggles.

This picture was taken two days after she gave birth to the triplets. At the time, Maria was in a lot of pain and trying to recover from her C-section.

Here's a one-month update that she posted.

Maria doesn't hold back when it comes to discussing her postpartum body. People think that women bounce back immediately after giving birth, but that is not common. It takes time, especially if you've had multiples.

Maria also keeps it real when it comes to the physical toll breastfeeding multiples has on your body.

Here she showed her followers how much she loves her woolen breast warmers, an essential to soothing her chest!

Here's the 12 week updates she posted where she expressed her feelings of vulnerability.

"It's been a while since my last post partum picture, and that's because I felt that the progress has been so slow." she wrote.

But Maria's post don't stop at being a supermom!

Maria also posts about keeping her marriage to hubby Anders strong after the birth of their triplets.

It's so important for new parents to treat themselves!

Speaking of hubby Anders, he's helped out with the babies a bunch and has even mastered the technique of a baby wrap!

We love a father that sets a good example for other fathers to step their game up.

Big brother Mikael has also taken fondly to his role of big brother!

Maria says Mikael loves giving his baby siblings kisses on the forehead - awwww.

Excuse me while I full-body cry at these adorable photos!

For now, it looks like Maria will continue posting updates on her life as a mom to four children.

We're loving the updates and wishing her family all the best as they grow.

Most importantly, thank you for shedding light on the reality of being pregnant and giving birth to multiples.

It's helping a lot of other mamas of multiples out there!
