Woman Makes Celebrity Instagram Pics Hilarious With Realistic Versions

Nowadays, spending time on Instagram can often feel like you're always on the outside looking in.

All of these people seem to be out here living fabulous lives while we're stuck shrugging our shoulders at the normal things that surround us. At the same time, the people we're fawning over seem to create the impression that these envy-inducing shots are just normal scenes from their lives.

However, as one Australian comedian has been making it clear for a while, there's always a level of artifice behind these "everyday" shots.

When actor and comedian Celeste Barber saw what was supposed to be scenes from celebrities' normal, everyday lives, an idea popped into her head.

As she told People she thought it would be fun to see how she would look if she tried to recreate these scenes through the lens of an average person.

In this case, do the Kardashians expect us to believe that they never take a "silly version?"

She called the project #celetestechallengeaccepted partially because some of them–like the one below–are actually physically challenging.

But as Time reported, there's a deeper challenge at the heart of what she's doing.

She said, "People are so obsessed with celebrities and celebrities seem to be so obsessed with portraying everyday people. I thought, right, if this is what everyone does — challenge accepted."

Let's face it, most of us are lot more likely to end up with Charlie Brown's Christmas tree than Mariah Carey is.

I suppose that's only fitting, though. When Christmas is so closely linked with someone as it is with her, they have to live up to that image somehow.

Celeste also made it clear that her photo recreations are not intended to demean the celebrities she's parodying.

She said, "I’m very pro-woman. I don’t want to be bashing people like Kim K, I actually think ‘good on her.’ I think she is a smart business woman."

And even the more "normal" activities don't often look quite so clean and pretty as they do in real life.

Celeste is obviously exaggerating a little here, but putting on makeup like this does require some adjustment. And that adjustment usually leads people to make some strange faces.

She's given off no signs of letting her e-fame go to her head, however.

An article on her website called "Being famous on Instagram is like being rich in Monopoly" makes it clear that she doesn't really consider herself famous.

And when it comes to the celebrities she parodies, she considers their number of followers the least interesting thing about them.

Let's be real, if each celebrity showed off their first attempt at surfboard yoga, we'd probably see a lot more photos like Celeste's.

Plus, we might notice that a lot of them would also double as someone's last attempt to do this.

Well, it turns out that a leaf blower doesn't work just as well as a fan for this shot. Oh, well.

When people ask Celeste about her Instagram page, she sometimes sums it up as, "Well, I take half-naked, inappropriate and, at times, unflattering photos of myself."

And we wouldn't have it any other way.

This photo of Celeste impersonating Demi definitely made the rounds.

"When you’re feeling yourself over the holidays and try to getaway with wearing your swimmer backwards," wrote Celeste.

No one is really bigger than Cardi B these days, so guess what, Celeste took the opportunity to make a comparison picture.

"That week between Christmas and NYE when you’ve got no f&#&@& idea what’s going on," wrote Celeste.

276,000 people liked this photo of Celeste recreating an iconic beach shot.

Also, she took it as an opportunity to announce 5 million followers!

Personally, this is one of my favorites because, who can actually do the splits hanging??

I think Celeste beats me on this one too.
