Twitter Loves 19-Year-Old's Honest Email And Her Professor's Reply After Missing Assignment

I honestly don't know any one who hasn't pounded out an assignment at the last second. It's a rite of passage in college if I'm not mistaken.

People are busy, stuff happens.

19-year-old Rachel Harriman went through a particularly emotional weekend before an assignment of hers was due and turning it in on time simply wasn't an option.

What did she do?

She hunkered down and wrote an email to her Prof. You have to see Rachel's honest email and the amazing reply she got from a clearly empathetic guy.

Meet 19-year-old Rachel Harriman who goes to Ohio State University.

She recently posted an email she sent to one of her professors that has blown up on Twitter.

Unfortunately, Rachel went through a difficult breakup the weekend before her assignment was due.

As we all know, breakups can feel like legitimate grief, and deserve some major respect.

Because of the weekend drama, she found it impossible to finish her assignment.

Yep, you know what that means. It's time to write that email requesting an extension from your prof.

She starts out by apologizing to her professor.

Always a good idea...

Instead of making up a BS excuse, she went ahead and took the honest approach. Thatta girl!

As you will see, her decision to be honest will pay off, in a big way. The email didn't end here...

Trend Frenzy

Check her out — she even sprinkles some good humor at the end of her message.

Of course, it was probably excruciating waiting for a reply from her prof, but it came.

Not sure this tactic is going to work a second time, tbh.

Obviously, Rachel was pretty happy that she was able to submit the assignment at a later time.

The lesson? Just be straight up with your instructors — you never know how it might pay off.
