A young man has issued a warning on social media to people who smoke e-cigarettes after he suffered a heart attack and permanent lung damage at 24-years-old due to his habit of vaping.
He posted a series of TikTok videos

The man, who The Daily Mail identified as Jacob Temple, posted a series of TikTok videos warning people of the use of e-cigarettes.
The Kentucky man shared a “PSA” urging vape smokers to quit immediately.
Vaping caused permanent damage to his lungs
In one of his videos, Temple said, “I now have the lungs of a 70-year-old man,” explaining that he has permanent scarring on part of his lungs after 12 years of vaping.
Temple said it feels like he’s ‘breathing through a straw’
“I can never inflate or deflate my lungs to 100% again in my life,” Temple said.
He added that the damage done to his lungs have made it difficult to breathe comfortably. “Feels like I’m breathing through a straw constantly, always, just never getting enough air and there’s nothing that can be done,” he shared.
He suffered a heart attack from vaping
In another video, the 24-year-old shared that his habit of vaping caused him to suffer a “minor” heart attack called an anterior myocardial infarction.
“My whole body was fighting to stay alive at a certain point,” he shared.
Temple is urging others to quit
Although the father of two’s lungs are now permanently damaged, he hopes the series of videos sharing his experience will encourage others to quit the e-cigarettes.
“The worst part about it is I still have good days and bad days,” he said.
“Sometimes I’m perfectly fine and I can be pretty active and live a fairly normal life as long as I have my rescue inhaler. Other times, I can’t function and I can’t sleep. It was fun while it lasted, but now I am paying for it dearly.”
Researchers have warned against vaping for year
The negative effects of vaping have been talked about for years as many researchers pointed out that it can lead to many potential health problems including respiratory illnesses, mental health issues, and negative effects on blood flow.
It can even lead to fatal lung cancer
A recent report published in the American Journal of Case Reports shed light on the link between vaping and fatal lung cancer.
It noted the “increasing concern about the harm of long-term use of e-cigarettes, including an association with the development and progression of lung cancer” in a 51-year-old man.
