This 'ICU Grandpa' Is There For Newborns When Their Parents Can't Be

Sure, it's not always the most glamorous job, but he still says it's the best job he's ever had. "I get puked on and I get peed on," he says. "Some people just don't understand the kind of reward you can get from holding a baby like this."

And as great as it is for him, it's just as comforting for the parents to have David on hand. When they're running late, or tending to another child, or even just taking a shower, they know that their precious newborn won't be alone.

"Every morning I get here as soon as I can, but I'm always anxious that he's alone, and he's missing Mommy," MaryBeth Brulette told local news.

Her son, Logan, was born at just 25 weeks old. She says that seeing Logan in David's arms gave her great relief. "All my anxiety and everything was gone, and I was just filled with joy."

Since Children's Healthcare of Atlanta posted the picture of their 'ICU Grandpa' on Facebook, more parents have come forward to express their gratitude for him.

Many recalled the time he had spent caring for their own kids, and the impact it had on their time.

It's a simple act, to hold and gently cradle a baby, but we can't help thinking David absolutely rocks for doing it.

And we're in good company.
