I’m the first to admit that I’m not that great at DIY projects . I used to be when I was a kid , but somehow I’ve lost those skills. At least I know my limitations. That’s all I’m trying to say.
However, it doesn’t seem to be the case with everyone. Some people think they can do it all, and I applaud their confidence. But there are certain things that you should leave to professionals , and the following are the perfect examples of that.
This Kitchen Set-Up

No, this is definitely not the proper way to install a kitchen extractor hood. Good luck trying to cook like that. Whoever thought this was a good idea needs to get their head examined. Do you agree with me on that?
This Bathroom Counter

“Please, do not cover your bathroom counter in cement. This has the homeowner written all over it.”
Yikes! I don’t know exactly what happened here, but this doesn’t look good to me. Have fun taking that off, alright.
This Driveway Paving Job

Speaking of cement, check this out. When you’re pouring concrete on a driveway at a new house next to a duck pond, make sure there are no ducks around. This crew left for lunch, and this is what they found when they came back, ha, ha.
This Ceiling Light

Um, this is one unusual-looking ceiling light. Am I right? Did it actually come like this, or is this some sort of bizarre DIY? Whatever this is, I can honestly say I’ve never seen anything like that.
This Drill Job

Imagine if you’re just walking around your house minding your business when this happens. Yes, this is a drill coming out of the floor. It looks to me that somebody’s downstairs neighbor got the longest drill, and decided to use that. Yikes!
This Butchered Wall

Who needs a stud-finder when you can just take your chances, huh? Well, if you’re as unlucky as the person who butchered this wall, then you definitely need one. Wow! Better luck next time, huh? Can you believe that?
This Basement Window

“Previous homeowner ‘fixed’ this basement window.”
If you fixing you mean hot glue cement then you would be right. Apparently, they abandoned a piece of plywood on the wall as the form for the concrete, attached with 1-inch masonry nails and what appears to be a silicone caulking compound. OMG!
This Paint Job

“Not sure this belongs here but the painters didn’t even bother to move a puzzle piece when going over the baseboards (was like this when I moved in).”
Ha, ha, is that right? I guess they’re not as thorough as you thought.
This Bathroom Set-Up

It sucks when you don’t have enough space in your house, so you have to improvise things. However, I don’t think this washing machine over toilet solution is the best option here. Good luck using this toilet, hee-hee.
This Staircase

Try climbing this staircase without hitting your head. I dare you, lol. I guess whoever came up with this concept didn’t take tall people into consideration. And that’s what you get for not hiring a professional. I told you so.
This Cozy Bathroom

You may be wondering how you can make your bathroom cozier, huh? Well, one thing is for sure don’t even think about putting a carpet on the floor. Can you imagine how hard this would be to clean all the time? Yuck!
This Unnoticeable Pipe

“Let’s paint it the same color as the floor, you won’t see the difference.”
Oh, yeah? That’s your idea of hiding this pipe? Ha! Sorry to break it to you, but no matter what you think, everybody can still see it. That’s right.
This Well-Functioning Shower Drain

This is what happens when you hire a so-called semi-professional plumber. Am I right? He tells you to give him a picture of where you want the drain to be placed and forgets how they actually work. Good luck with that.
This Robot Vacuum Revenge

“I’m doing renovations and my Roomba found a tiny piece of sheetrock.”
Oh my goodness, can you imagine that? I would have been so annoyed with that. Now, how can they even fix that? Any ideas? I’d love to know.
This Cooking Range

You had one job, and that was to install this stovetop correctly. How could you mess this up? Oh my goodness, ha, ha. Well, I’m at a loss. How do you fix this now? I have no idea.
This Hidden Treasure

“I spent 5 minutes searching for the light switch until I opened the FREAKING MEDICINE CABINET.”
Ha, ha, would you have thought of doing that? Why would somebody think it was a good idea to hide a light switch inside a medicine cabinet. I’d love to know that.
This Handy Garage

Newsflash, a garage is typically used for parking cars, no? So why are there stairs installed right in front of this one? I guess somebody made a giant gaffe. I wonder what this homeowner thought of that.
This Shower Fix

Honestly, if this is how you fix your shower leak, I’m not sure I want to know you, lol. Instead of butchering this, you should have called a plumber. And I’m not even sure this will hold.
Okay, what did I tell you?

Get a professional! No matter how small the job might seem to you, there is a reason people do it for a living. Trust me on that. What you might save in doing it yourself may cost you a lot more to fix later. That’s all I’m saying.
