Viral Hack Proves We've Been Using Garbage Bags The Wrong Way

I bet you don't think twice about the things you do every day, like putting in a new trash bag, for example. Well, maybe you should after reading about this hack.

Not to add to your already busy mind, but once you see this TikTok video, you'll see what I mean. It will surely change the way you've been using trash bags all along. You can thank me later, hee, hee.

So how do you put in a new trash bag?

Do you take it out of the box, shake it open, and stuff it neatly into the trash can? Well, as it turns out, that's wrong. There's a better way to do it.

Are you shocked? Well, you should be.

Most of us have been doing it this way our whole lives. So what's the better way then? Well, this TikTok user recently demonstrated it to the rest of her followers. Needless to say, they were blown away, too.

Okay, let's get on to the nitty-gritty.

Did you ever notice that the trash bags have a seam that seems to be inside out? Well, that should have been your first clue. It is the "secret" of this TikTok hack.

All you need to do is open the bag slightly — and put it around the outer rim of the trash can.

No need to shake the bag at all. Not unless you want to scare your cats, ha, ha! In that case, you're one mean person. (Just kidding!)

You've got to make sure the bag is tight and secure — sort of like you're putting a hat on your trash can.

Then, press the rest of the bag into the can, and voilà — easy-peasy! Who knew? Did you know that it actually works better like that? I certainly didn't, ha, ha!

As it turns out, I'm not the only one who had never heard of doing it this way.

There were lots of people who commented that they, too, just found out about this hack. And, some even said they have been doing it wrong for decades.

However, some folks said that they might miss the old way of doing it, shaking the bag and all.

Perhaps it's just a force of habit that's hard to let go of, huh? It's kind of funny when you think about it.

Then, some questioned the efficacy of doing it this way.

I mean, is there a big difference? I don't know. I guess I'll have to follow her advice and try it out myself to see what happens. I'll report back to you.

There were those who are just too lazy to even try it out.

I have to admit I'm a little bit the same way. Give me a faster way to do something, and I'm all over it these days.

I also tend to agree with this person.

I didn't even notice that the bag was supposedly inside out. I mean, how can you tell? Ha, ha! I know there is a seam, but still, it's not that clear-cut for me. What do you think?

Then the jokers chimed in.

They kind of enjoy doing it the other way. When else can you play around with a bag like a maniac? Am I right? Or is it just me? Shake it, shake it, baby!

Some even use it as a form of therapy.

It's one way to let go of your daily frustrations, isn't it? I've got to say, those are my kind of people for sure. I like the way they're thinking here.

Even though there isn't exactly a right or wrong way of doing it, it can save you some time.

Am I right? Doing it this way ensures that you won't get any germs on your hands if your trash can happens to be dirty, too.

So what's your take on this latest hack?
