As you may have heard, there's a petition gaining traction online to cut out Donald Trump from the Home Alone sequel, Home Alone 2: Lost In New York. The petition has gotten so popular, Macaulay Culkin himself has vocalized his support for the removal.
Now, the former President has announced he's stepping down from the Hollywood labor union.
The board believes Trump's unpatriotic display violated the union's constitution, thus setting the stage for a disciplinary hearing that could have resulted in the revocation of his membership.
On Wednesday, Trump sent a letter of resignation to SAG-AFTRA President Gabrielle Carteris, according to TMZ.
"I write to you today regarding the so-called Disciplinary Committee hearing aimed at revoking my membership. Who cares!"
"And television shows including The Fresh Prince of Bel-Air, Saturday Night Live and of course, one of the most successful shows in television history, The Apprentice — just to name a few!"
"As such, this letter is to inform you of my immediate resignation from SAG-AFTRA. You have done nothing for me."
TMZ reports that SAG-AFTRA responded to Trump's resignation letter with a two-word statement, "Thank you."
