Keira Knightley Says She Is No Longer Doing Nudity In Films For 'The Male Gaze'

Keira Knightley is one of the most iconic and quintessential early 2000s actresses. From Love Actually to Pirates of the Caribbean. From Pride and Prejudice to Atonement, it's no wonder Keira looms large in our hearts!

Now, the actress is revealing why she won't do nude scenes in films anymore.

Keira Knightly is best known for appearing in cult classic films like "Pirates of the Caribbean" and "Pride and Prejudice."

She is truly one of the most memorable faces in Hollywood, and with a relatively quiet private life, fans love any insider info we can get on the actress.

Now, the actress and mom is revealing why she doesn't think she'll do nude movie scenes ever again.

"It’s partly vanity and also it’s the male gaze,” she explained. "I feel very uncomfortable now trying to portray the male gaze," the actress revealed while chatting on the "Channel Connects" podcast.

"I don’t want it to be that kind of, ugh, those horrible sex scenes where you’re all greased up and everybody’s grunting. I’m not interested in doing that."

"You can use somebody else,” she added.

"Because I’m too vain and the body has had two children now and I’d just rather not stand in front of a group of men naked."

However, Keira also admitted that she's looking at it on a case-by-case basis.

The 35-year-old explained she might feel differently about "a story that was about that journey of motherhood and body [acceptance]."

"I feel like, I’m sorry, but that would have to be with a female filmmaker," the actress clarified.

"I don’t have an absolute ban, but I kind of do with men." I love that Keira is learning more about her boundaries and accepting her comfort levels!
