When it comes to young influencers, few are doing as much for their followers, and for the planet, as Ava Jules.
The 20-year-old Hawaiian lifestyle and beauty YouTuber is focused on giving back to her fans, and the oceans, as much as she can.
Diply had a chance to sit down with the compassionate creator about her focus on the planet, and her passion for promoting body positivity.
Ava's YouTube channel features videos describing her healthy habits, her list of must-read books, and her day-to-day life in beautiful Hawaii.
With her undeniably charismatic personality, it's easy to see why Ava has cultivated such a loyal following.
Living in Hawaii, Ava has a closer connection to the ocean than most of us. This connection has inspired her to work with organizations such as 4Ocean in an effort to combat the ocean pollution crisis.
In addition to these efforts, Ava is launching a new, sustainably-designed merch line.
After high school, Ava found herself wanting to learn more about how to preserve the ocean, and make more conscious choices. She educated herself more about plastic pollution, coral reef damage, and worked with foundations on the island, as well as participating in beach cleanups.
"I was educating myself more and at the same time sharing what I was learning on my social platforms," she explained.
Sharing her beautiful, unedited photos is another way Ava spreads her positivity.
Thankfully, she has fostered a positive community of followers and doesn't often experience internet trolls.
"There's only been a few instances where that's happened," Ava explained.
"Hateful comments on the internet are not a new thing, but I knew getting into [such personal] topics on my channel, I was opening up myself to anyone seeing that."
When we asked Ava what her parting message for our readers who are struggling with their own self-esteem, she wanted to drive home the importance of individual action.
"Everyone is capable of doing great things," she insisted.
"Everyone's worthy of doing amazing things and capable of following their dreams."
