10+ Actors Who Should Be The Next James Bond

Ever since Daniel Craig announced that No Time to Die would be his last James Bond film, speculation has run rampant over who the next 007 would be.

We've seen so many names tossed out so far, with everyone from Idris Elba to Tom Hardy to Henry Cavill. Even female actresses are being considered!

Here's who we would like to see as the next James Bond.

Regé-Jean Page

So many fans fell in love with this handsome fella after seeing him play the duke on Bridgerton.

He was cool, collected, and clearly has a James Bond touch with the ladies. We got proof of that after all of those steamy bedroom scenes...

Charlize Theron

If Mad Max: Fury Road taught us anything, it's that Charlize can hold her own as a female lead.

She was mesmerizing as Furiosa and pretty much any other action role she's taken on, such as Atomic Blonde.

Idris Elba

As much as we'd like to see this tall, dark, and handsome fella become James Bond, he has some hesitations.

He told Vanity Fair that he feels "disheartened" to take on the role after some racist comments were made about a Black James Bond.

Claire Foy

Thanks to her time on The Crown, it's fair to say that she's already got "British icon" nailed down.

Her career is even reaching new heights, as she's set to play the main character in The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo series.

Tom Hardy

We're not the only ones who want the Venom star to step into Bond's shoes.

He clearly wants it, too, as he has refused to comment on the potential role, in the fear that he will jinx it.

Zoe Saldana

The actress' name has practically become synonymous with the action genre over the years. She's starred in everything from Avatar to Guardians of the Galaxy to Star Trek.

If anyone could tackle a female Bond with ease, it's her.

Sam Heughan

A Scottish James Bond sounds like a dream to us! And to the actor himself: “Of course it would be a dream role and a Scottish Bond,” he told This Morning.

"Who doesn’t want to see another Scottish Bond!”

Margot Robbie

This wouldn't be the first time that Robbie's name has been put out there to play Bond. Back in 2016, even ex-James Bond star, George Lazenby, said that she would be good for the role.

"She’s ballsy," he told The Sun.

Tom Hiddleston

This is yet another British Tom that we'd like to see fill Daniel Craig's shoes.

He won over our hearts as Loki in the Avengers, and he played a character who was recruited by British Intelligence in The Night Manager.

Angelina Jolie

This role would fit Angelina like a glove. She was basically the female equalivant of James Bond already with her time as the lead of the Lara Croft series.

She also has experience playing a spy in Mr. And Mrs. Smith.

Richard Madden

Before his character's tragic death on Game of Thrones, the actor proved that he can handle being a leader.

He even previously said that he's "very flattered and thankful" to be considered for the role. "It’s a really brilliant thing to be in.”

Charlie Hunnam

The Sons of Anarchy actor has already proven himself capable of being a leading man in both his popular TV show and Pacific Rim.

He has the sophistication, physicality, and voice that it takes to be a good James Bond.

Emily Blunt

While she started out with rom-coms (The Devil Wear Prada and The Five Year Engagement), her career has changed its trajectory since then.

With action performances in The Edge of Tomorrow and Sicario, she's proven that she can tackle Bond.

James Norton

The Grantchester and McMafia actor may seem perfect for the role of James Bond, but he has some hesitations.

That's because he's worried that it would impact his chances of landing independent roles in the future.

Thandie Newton

Those who watched HBO's Westworld were completely blown away by the actress' performance as a brothel owner and robot. She was also quite the killing machine.

Her velvety voice and captivating performance would make James Bond fans unable to look away.

Nicholas Hoult

He may be younger than a lot of the actors on this list, but that doesn't make him any less talented.

He has stolen the show in several major motion films, such as Mad Fax: Fury Road and X-Men.

Ruth Negga

She already has something in common with a previous Bond: She's Irish! Just like Pierce Brosnan.

She also has plenty of action experience, thanks to her time on Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D, where she proved to be quite the badass.

Chris Hemsworth

Since Daniel Craig proved that Bond can be blonde, we could totally see this Australian actor taking on the role.

He has action experience from the Marvel Universe, he's well-liked, and he looks damn good in a suit.

Henry Cavill

Okay, fine, we just want to see this gorgeous specimen of a man suited up as James Bond.

But he would also nail the acting part of the job, just as he did as the lead in The Witcher.

Emilia Clarke

Don't let the pleasant smile and the tray full of cupcakes fool you. Emilia Clarke has a dark and powerful side that she's able to tap into with expert precision.

She's already "The Mother of Dragons," so why not make her "The Mother of Spies"?

Taron Egerton

We've already seen Taron's Bond audition in Kingsman: The Secret Service. And from what I've deduced, it's difficult to imagine how he wouldn't be perfect for the role.

Taron is suave and serious, but also incredibly humorous.

Cate Blanchett

When the time comes for the first female Bond to take center stage, I wouldn't mind seeing Cate Blanchett in the driver's seat.

Granted, it would be an older version of the character, but that's not necessarily a bad thing.

Robert Pattinson

Pattinson has that sharp jawline and icy cold stare that simply scream "Bond. James Bond."

If Robert were to play the role, he'd be crossing off yet another iconic fictional character. Batman, James Bond — who's next?

Liam Hemsworth

The Hemsworths have incredible genes. How many families can say that they've sired two sons who both have the potential to one day be James Bond?

Not many, I can tell you that much. I'd actually push harder for Liam than for Chris if I'm being honest.

Anya Chalotra

I would have been hesitant about casting Anya as the next Bond had I not obsessively burned through every single episode of The Witcher.

After seeing her steal scenes from Henry Cavill, I have no doubt in my mind that Anya would be a fitting Bond.

Timothée Chalamet

Casting Tim would be a great way to restart the entire Bond franchise. Think about it: We could watch as James Bond becomes 007, as opposed to being dropped into his latest mission.

It's a thought that's well worth considering.

Nathalie Emmanuel

Nathalie was one of the most enticing characters to watch on Game of Thrones. Witnessing her become Bond would be a great way to offer a fresh perspective and insight on the legendary spy.

Although from the way she's holding that cat, maybe she'd be better suited to play Blofeld.

James McAvoy

No one believed that James would ever be as good (or better) than Patrick Stewart at portraying Charles Xavier, yet here we are.

He doesn't just have the potential to be James Bond, but he could very well be the greatest Bond we've ever seen.

Michael Fassbender

Michael Fassbender can do anything and be anyone as far as I'm concerned. He's a master of dialect and an expert when it comes to being able to pull off an accent.

The emotional range that Michael would bring to the role would be like nothing we've ever seen.

John Krasinski

I can feel the heat coming at me as I write this, but give it a moment to sink in. John is already playing Jack Ryan, would it really be that much of a stretch to picture him as Bond?

Rosamund Pike

Rosamund Pike scares me, and I mean that in the most complimentary way imaginable. Her performance in Gone Girl will be talked about for years to come.

That cold stoicism would play perfectly into the psyche of James Bond.

Michael B. Jordan

If you had to sum up James Bond in only three words, it would be these: suave, sexy, and cool. I can't think of three better adjectives to describe Michael B. Jordan.

The confidence is practically coming out of his pores.

Benedict Cumberbatch

I'm not saying that Benedict wouldn't have some work to do. First of all, he'd need to bulk up. Nothing crazy like a Christian Bale body transformation, but I'd say Benedict could stand to gain a good 15 lbs of muscle.

From that point onward, it's smooth sailing.

Cara Delevingne

I've been madly in love with Cara Delevingne ever since I saw the film Paper Towns. She's a brilliant young actress with all the charisma and charm required to be James Bond.

Or perhaps, a female version of John Wick?

Cillian Murphy

BBC

Do I even have to say anything? One look at this photo should be all the reason that anyone would need as to why Cillian Murphy could, nay, should be James Bond.

Who would you choose to play the legendary spy? Leave a comment and let us know!
