People Online React To Video Of Cooked Ground Beef Being Rinsed

I'm a huge foodie, and I love to cook. So I'm always on the lookout for the latest cooking hack that's going to not only save me precious time but make my meals taste better.

Usually, I find great tips online, but occasionally there are questionable hacks people post. That is exactly the case with this TikTok video that recently went viral for all the wrong reasons.

TikTok user Emily Harper's video starts completely normal.

She's cooking ground meat in a frying pan just as any of us would. But, then she claims that she's about to teach us something she learned in nutrition class. Oh, this should be good.

While she's cooking, she claims that "all this grease is disgusting".

Pardon me? Isn't all the grease what gives the beef its flavor? Or is it just me who thinks that? Ha, ha! I think pretty much everybody who cooks knows that right about now.

So she proceeds to tell us to get rid of the grease.

Okay, I have to admit I have sometimes gotten rid of some of the grease if there was too much but definitely not all of it. You need to keep the flavor in.

But what she does next is even more baffling.

She actually puts the cooked ground beef under running water in the sink and drains it. What? WTF? Why would you do that? Now all the flavor is going down the drain.

OMG, have you ever seen anything like this before?

I definitely have not. Doing this will make your meat so dry. I can't imagine there being any flavor left in this dish. What was she thinking? I don't understand this at all.

She then shows us the difference once she puts the meat back in the frying pan.

Yeah, I see it — it's dry AF! Come on, you can't do that. It could have been a perfectly cooked meat, and now it's totally ruined.

After she posted her cooking hack people went wild.

Her post went viral when it got 4.9 million views, and the comments went rampant. Some people even started sending her mean messages. So since then, she had to get rid of all the comments on her TikTok video.

I certainly don't condone that kind of behavior.

It's best to do what this guy did and make fun of it with his video if that's what you want to do anyway. It's best to keep it lighthearted after all. Do you agree?

But what do you think of this viral video?

Is this girl clueless or what? I think she needs to go back to cooking class and forget the so-called nutrition class, ha, ha! But in all seriousness, she probably didn't deserve the flack that she got, huh?
