Kelly Clarkson Claims Ex-Husband Brandon Blackstock Defrauded Her Out Of Millions

The year 2020 has been a big and tough year for most of us. If someone tells you they actually had a good year this year, I would be a little bit suspicious of them.

Even America's sweetheart, Kelly Clarkson, has been having a rough year. Sure, she's got her successful music career and her part on two separate hit TV shows (The Voice and The Kelly Clarkson Show), but she's also been going through a very public divorce that's been getting pretty messy in recent weeks.

Kelly Clarkson has been America's sweetheart for years.

After shooting to fame by winning the very first season of American Idol, Kelly has been a legendary singer as well as a beloved TV personality on shows like The Voice and The Kelly Clarkson Show.

In 2013, Kelly married her boyfriend of one year, Brandon Blackstock.

The two had met in 2006, with Kelly claiming at the time, "“This guy walks by, making everybody laugh. I said, ‘I’m gonna end up with him. I know it.'"

In June, Kelly filed for divorce after seven years of marriage.

The couple share two children together: six-year-old River and four-year-old Remington.

At the time, Kelly cited "irreconcilable differences" as the reason for their split. Since then, things have gotten a little messy.

Kelly recently opened up about the experience on an episode of her talk show, saying "It's horrible."

"There are so many hard parts. The hardest for me is the kids," Kelly went on to say. "I think, as women especially, we're trained to take it all on and deal with it and you're fine. But it's your babies that you worry about."

Kelly was recently awarded full custody of the couple's two children, but that didn't seem to have much effect on Brandon's request for child support.

A source has told People that Brandon has requested $436,000 a month in spousal and child support, on top of requesting Kelly also foot the bill for all legal expenses during the divorce proceedings.

However, it's not only Brandon who's causing potential drama for Kelly.

Things have also gotten a little tense between the couple due to a court case between Kelly and Starstruck Management which is run by Brandon's father, Narvel Blackstock.

Kelly was sued for $1.4 million in unpaid commissions by Starstruck.

Startstruck alleges that Kelly will owe an additional $5.4 million by the end of the year on top of what she has already paid and what she allegedly owes.

However, it looks like Kelly is now firing back.

In new court documents obtained by HollywoodLife, Kelly is alleging that Starstruck, Narvel, and Brandon defrauded her out of millions of her income while representing her.

The documents state that Starstruck is “demanding unconscionable fees and compensation” for "illegal services" that "acted in conflict of interest" of Kelly's own interest.

Kelly is also alleging Brandon and Narvel acted as agents without being licensed to do so in the State of California.

This echoes the sentiments in a previous petition Kelly filed to counter the original lawsuit.

That petition claimed that, because Starstruck Management had been "procuring, offering, promising, or attempting to procure employment or engagements" for her without first obtaining a talent agency license, all agreements between them must be "declared void and unenforceable."

The petition also states that the lawsuit "conveniently ignores the fact that Kelly had her own licensed talent agency [Creative Artists Agency] at all times."

The petition says that Kelly is "entitled to a full and complete accounting" from Starstruck of all money they received "directly or indirectly" from all contracts, employment, or engagements pertaining to her in any way, and that money should be returned to her in full.

It looks like Kelly isn't afraid to fight back!
