If you ask me, I don’t think there’s anything inherently wrong with getting an early start on the holidays and spreading a little Christmas cheer during the otherwise grey and gloomy month of November.
I know, I know. Thanksgiving hasn’t even happened yet and there are still plenty of days before we officially reach the most wonderful time of the year . But that doesn’t mean I can’t change my phone alarm to play Josh Groban’s “O Holy Night” and make sugar cookies on a Monday evening while watching Elf in my reindeer pajamas.

Suffice it to say, I wasted no time shoving those silly old Halloween decorations back in their box the minute the clock struck November 1st.
Personally, I’m just impressed I waited that long.
Really? Because I think it’s too early for your attitude, sir.
I can at least sort of understand being upset in November but in December? Nah nah. It’s officially Santa time so turn around, walk away, and oh by golly have a holly jolly Christmas this year.
I’ve done my waiting. 11 months of it.
The day I realized I didn’t have to actually wait for it to be socially acceptable was the day I truly started living. Who cares if it’s November?
Go blast Ms. Mariah’s iconic holiday album in your car and listen to Sir Bublé croon “Jingle Bells” to your little heart’s desire.
It’s your world, sis.
No offense but…yeah.
Look, it’s nothing you did. It’s just that we like December so much more than you. No hard feelings though, okay?
It’s not like we don’t know how extra we become this time of year.
But if there was ever a season where it’s totally acceptable to be as extra as possible, I’d like to think it’s Christmas.
Christmas lights are the best kind of lights and you can’t convince me otherwise.

And much like McDonald’s fries, I, too, am overly salty. So watch your mouth and mind your own business while I deck all the halls and hang my stockings with all the care I can muster.
She’s coming out of her year-long hibernation.
Mariah knows Christmas is when we need her most. As soon as Halloween is over and the snow starts coming down, you can hear her, faint as a whisper in the wind:
” I… don’t want a lot for Christmas… “
December: that month where Christmas doesn’t begin, but intensifies.
You think I’m too festive now in November? Just wait til December. That’s when I truly come alive .
It really shouldn’t be this hard, y’all.
Why do you guys insist on resisting so much? Just let Christmas into your heart, embrace the holly, the jolly, and let yourself truly become merry and bright.
You won’t regret it.

Christmas doesn’t even get an entire month like Halloween.
And while we’re on the subject, I’d just like to say that I never hear anyone complaining when Walmart starts stocking variety packs of candy or when someone starts snapping Instagram pics with skeletons and Jack-O-Lanterns in September.

Yeah, it’s a little unfair that Thanksgiving can get totally overshadowed by the onset of Christmas enthusiasm.
But I think it’s also a little unfair that we celebrate a holiday about stealing land from Native Americans.
So. Shrug .
Oh dear, sweet child; it’s never too early.
Except, you know any time before October. Then it just seems unnecessarily early. But after October is totally fair game.

There’s a quote from one of my favorite Christmas movies, Love Actually , that I like to live by: “At Christmas, you tell the truth.”
Well, the truth is you’re really bumming me out with all this unnecessary holiday hate so please fa-la-la-la-leave me alone.

All you Scrooges out there get a three day break in between the two months of Christmas. I suggest you enjoy it because once those are done, there’s no stopping us.
It’s been fun, but it’s time to go now.
Don’t worry, we’ll see you all again next year. But your time has passed. Now it’s Santa’s time to shine.
Correction, it’s the first day of the holiday season.
There’s no stopping anyone once they’ve been bit by the Christmas bug. It’s best to just sit back and let it happen.
