Gwen Stefani Would Rather Wait To Get Married Than Have Wedding 'Be A COVID Situation'

There are a lot of complicated decisions that come along with getting married — the venue, the dress, the food, the guest list, the open bar, the vows... the list goes on and on. For some people, the pandemic made everything more complicated, but for others, it made it much simpler: just don't get married until it's over!

Gwen Stefani and Blake Shelton seem to be in the second camp.

Gwen Stefani and Blake Shelton have been one of our favorite celebrity couples since 2015.

The two met while competing against each other as judges on The Voice, and while both were going through separate divorces at the time, it wasn't long before they found love together!

After five years together, Blake and Gwen finally got engaged in late October of this year!

"Hey @gwenstefani thanks for saving my 2020... And the rest of my life.. I love you. I heard a YES!" Blake announced on Instagram.

Despite our desire to see some gorgeous wedding photos, don't get your hopes up for a walk down the aisle any time soon.

"I would say I just want my parents there at this point," Gwen told Ryan Seacrest when asked when their wedding would be.

"Like, my parents wouldn’t come to Thanksgiving because they were so scared, so really would rather it not be a COVID situation," Gwen said.

Makes sense! I know a lot of people who are waiting for the world to a little bit back to normal before having a big event like a wedding.

"Like I would rather not have the masks and that kind of thing," Gwen went on.

"Even when you cut it down to just family, it’s still too many people for COVID so we’re sort of like, just going to see what happens in the next few months."

Would you wait to get married until things were more normal, or would you go ahead with a wedding no matter what? Let us know how you feel in the comments!
