Moms Online React To Target's Accidental NSFW Santa Cookie Design

There are many times when retailers promote and sell products that make us think, "How did this get past the marketing department?" While some of us may laugh it off when things are a bit "inappropriate," some moms with young kids aren't afraid to speak their minds when they see that things marketed towards their children are that they think are wrong.

Moms never want their kids to be exposed to things that are X-rated.

Parents are always looking to protect their kids from things that can be inappropriate or marketed as "grooming" for young ones, even if it's harmless and unintentional.

Recently, Target is the latest victim of angry moms on Facebook, after marketing Christmas cookies that are a bit inappropriate.

As pointed out by one mom in a Facebook group, the cookies are three circle-shaped cookies that are decorated with Santa Claus from top to bottom.

The problem occurs on the very bottom cookie, where Santa's boots are.

A mom of two, Suzie Fromer, posted a photo of the cookies to Facebook, saying she "Shouldn't send her kids to school with these," because of the phallic symbol at the bottom.

Apparently, many moms said the boots look like "Santa's private area."

Other moms chimed in on Facebook saying that they see it, too. One mom wrote, "I peered in and thought: ‘What the hell is Santa’s penis doing there?'"

Some moms, however, purchased the cookies and didn't even realize it at all.

Nicole Miller, a mom of four, posted the cookies online sharing that they were inexpensive and great for holidays and even bake sale fundraisers.

Quickly, other moms pointed out that the image was there, for sure.

After a friend pointed it out to Miller, she was done for. “My friends pointed out Santa’s boots — which I then couldn’t unsee,” she said.

There were many moms, however, who thought it was simply hilarious.

"After everything that’s been going on this year with the pandemic, it’s made my December," one mom told The New York Post. It's a hilarious mishap, for sure.

Eventually, word got around mom groups on social media pretty quickly. So much so, that Target issued a statement about the holiday cookies.

“We have not received any feedback directly on this item. The design is intended to represent Santa’s boots," a rep for the company said to The New York Post.

They also said they will take the feedback into account.

"We appreciate the feedback and will take it into consideration moving forward," the company concluded. It just goes to show you, that even major companies can miss these design flaws.
