TikTok User Shares 'Hack' For Cooking Steak In Toaster That Has Us Asking 'Why?'

Have you ever seen that viral cooking hack video where the lady shows you that you can actually cook a cheese quesadilla in your toaster, just by simply folding it a certain way and letting the appliance do the rest?

Well, this is sort of like that, except instead of a quesadilla, it's a raw steak, and instead of a tasty treat, it's salmonella.

Allow me to introduce you to the steak-in-the-toaster atrocity that has us, and the good people of TikTok, begging to know why. Just, why?

The horrifying video in question was posted on the platform five days ago by a user identified only as Juliette.

The caption for the clip reads, "Cooking a steak for my boyfriend", and even boldly includes the hashtag, #chef.

As of writing, Juliette's video has over 1.2 million views and nearly 110,000 likes, though I can't say those numbers are coming from any users who actually applaud the aspiring chef's bizarre cooking technique.

So wait, how exactly do you cook a steak in a toaster?

Well, first of all, you don't.

But as far as Juliette is concerned, the process all begins by placing what appear in the video to be two unseasoned cuts of steak directly into the slots of the toaster.

Once you have your steaks ready to go to waste, simply push the lever to slide them down into the now-salmonella-laden appliance.

In the video, it's unclear how long Juliette actually lets the slabs of meat toast for, but one can only hope she kept them down there until they reached an internal temperature of at least 145°F, as recommended by the USDA Food Safety and Inspection Service.

In the next shot we see Juliette plating the somewhat-browned steaks after having presumably declared them "cooked."

Before serving the potentially poisonous dish to her potentially unsuspecting boyfriend, she makes sure to pool plenty of steak sauce over top, perhaps in an effort to disguise the "raw" taste.

Bon appétit.

Oh, and in case there was any doubt that someone would actually eat this...

...Juliette actually finishes the video by taking a big bite of one of the steaks, seemingly unbothered by the middle-finger she just gave all the professional chefs, steak fans, and just plain people of the world.

Suffice it to say, people are not pleased with the video and have made their feelings quite known in the comment section.

"I just watched a crime happen," one person wrote, while another added, "I am physically upset."

Many other users begged to know why Juliette didn't even season the poor steaks first, and some even speculated that her poor boyfriend is probably in the hospital after that meal.

Then, of course, there were those who tagged Gordon Ramsay in the hopes of having the crassest, most opinionated chef in the world react to the video.

After a quick check of his official TikTok account, I'm quite sad to report that he has yet to react to the video.

But don't worry, there's still time. He could very well be filming a reaction to it now. Let's all just keep an eye out for it.

It's worth mentioning that the toasted steaks aren't the only cooking atrocities that Juliette has shown on her TikTok account.

Some of her others include preparing spaghetti and meatballs in a coffee maker, frying up a burger on a clothes iron, and even cooking hot dogs in a dryer.

She's also used a hairstraightener twice, once to pop popcorn and then again to fry bacon and eggs.

Considering that these videos average anywhere from 800,000 to more than 1 million views each, I think it's safe to say Juliette will continue horrifying the internet with her shocking cooking "hacks". Let's just hope she doesn't actually try everything she makes.
