Kate Beckinsale Responds To Body Shamer Who Claims She Is 'Dreadfully Thin'

Kate Beckinsale may have played a vampire in Underworld, but it's very clear that she is one.

That's because the British actress does not age. She's 47, but she looks like she's still in her early 30s.

On top of this, she has one of the best bodies in Hollywood. Everyone thinks so — well, except for one person who recently body-shamed the star for being "dreadfully thin."

Like many celebs, Kate Beckinsale has a history of dealing with body shamers.

When she posted a bikini selfie on vacation in Cabo San Lucas, Mexico in 2019, she was wearing a gorgeous two-piece with short-like bottoms.

While the photo got a lot of praise (Paris Hilton commented, "That's hot") one dared to make fun of her bathing suit choice.

"When did granny panties come back in style??" they wrote.

Sadly, that wasn't all. On another one of the many bikini shots she posted during that time, one troll said that she is "too old" to wear a bikini.

Thankfully, Kate didn't take their criticism lying down.

She shut down their criticism with such a powerful and eloquent response.

"Are you aware that when you get the urge to accuse someone of something , especially someone you don’t know, or attribute an intention without ever having met the person, that the only thing really being achieved is revealing something about yourself or something you fear about yourself?" the actress began.

She does not mince words.

"I don’t know you and I don’t know who has made you feel that if you get older you have no value, can’t be attractive or sexy or have a relationship with your body that isn’t only self loathing, but as one female to another, don’t let any of that noise bother you," she continued.

She went on to say that she's embracing getting older.

"I can’t imagine how unhappy you must feel to leave comments like this. People have all sorts of things going on that they put a brave face on and you’d never know."

She even concluded her message by "sending love" to the troll.

Keyboard warriors aren't the only body shamers she's dealt with. She's even faced scrutiny from people in the industry.

When she worked on Pearl Harbor, director Michael Bay had the nerve to tell her she needed to shed 10 pounds.

"I think he was baffled by me because my boobs weren’t bigger than my head and I wasn’t blonde," she shared on The Graham Norton Show in 2016.

At the time, Kate had just had her daughter, Lily, with ex-husband, Michael Sheen.

"I’d just had my daughter and had lost weight but was told that if I got the part I’d have to work out and I just didn’t understand why a 1940s nurse would do that," she continued.

Now, in 2020, the actress is *still* having to deal with body shamers.

This all took place on Instagram last weekend when she posted a video of herself lying in bed.

In it, she lounges peacefully while the camera pans over to show her cat dressed in a Chuckie Halloween costume. So sweet.

Soon, one commenter dared to say that she looked "dreadfully thin."

When this happened, Kate turned the tables on them by pointing out the dark sunglasses on the troll's profile picture.

“You’re wearing speedo goggles — it might be hard for you to be entirely confident about what you’re seeing — much less comment about it,” she responded.

Go, Kate! She also had help from fans who defended the star and even pointed out the troll's lack of logic.

"She’s covered in blankets. How can he tell," one wrote.

Others were more preoccupied with the Chuckie cat. "clive is [expletive] plotting lmao," this user wrote.

Thanks to these fans and Kate's burn, we know that she slept peacefully that night.

She put that troll in his place and she did so in such a clever way.

Her video also sent a strong message to other trolls out there: mess with her and she's got a bodyguard, Chuckie the Cat, to come after them.
