'Charlie Brown' Christmas And Thanksgiving Specials Won't Air On Television This Year

There's nothing quite like sitting down with your family over the holidays and watching a Peanuts special, whether it's Halloween, Thanksgiving, or Christmas. The tradition has been alive for decades, but this year, it's going to look a little different; Apple TV now owns the rights to all the Peanuts specials themselves.

It looks like we might not be gathering around our televisions for the shows.

There are a lot of things people look forward to once the weather starts getting colder.

And one of those things is definitely all the holiday specials that start popping up on television.

Whether it's for Halloween, Thanksgiving, or Christmas, fans love kicking back, relaxing, and watching their favorite shows.

One of the shows that people look forward to the most are all the *Peanuts* holiday specials that play!

They seem to have something for every season, and it is a tradition that people look forward to every year.

Fans love watching Charlie Brown and his friends, and it's something that a lot of families do together.

The *Peanuts* holiday specials are a tradition for tons of families.

It's The Great Pumpkin, Charlie Brown; A Charlie BrownThanksgiving; and A Charlie Brown Christmas are all specials that have been airing on television every year for over 50 years, but according to a new press release, that's all going to change this year.

Apple TV now owns the exclusive rights to all three *Peanuts* specials.

That means that this year, the movies will be exclusively available to stream using Apple TV, and will not be airing on the traditional cable networks.

Fans had a LOT to say about the change.

Fans pointed out that the tradition of watching the specials with their family on cable every year would now have to be canceled.

Since many people can't afford to have every single streaming service, this obviously creates a big issue for people.

People were also quick to say that the issue with the streaming services is that they are only making things even more and more inaccessible for people.

After all, having all streaming services that are available for purchase would end up costing more than cable!

All around, fans were pretty down about the change, and to be honest, they definitely have a point.

While some fans are understandably pretty disappointed by this change, there is at least some good news to go along with the change.

All the specials will be available to stream for free for a limited window around the holidays.

"The Halloween special will begin streaming globally on Apple TV+ on October 19, and will be available for free from October 30 until November 1 as a special treat on Apple TV+," reads the press release.

A Charlie Brown Thanksgiving will be available for free from November 25th until the 27th.

*A Charlie Brown Christmas* will be available to stream for free from December 11th to December 13th.

It's a pretty big change!

Will you be streaming these classics on the days that they're available for free, or will you be going without watching the Peanuts specials this year?

What do you think of *Peanuts* moving from cable to streaming?
