Actor and musician Jeff Bridges has been a beloved figure on our screens since he began his career at the young age of two in 1951 as the son of actors Lloyd Bridges and Dorothy Bridges, and it's clear that even while delivering bad news, Jeff keeps his charm and his warmth at the forefront.
Jeff Bridges, 70, Diagnosed With Lymphoma: 'Thank You For Your Prayers'
Jeff Bridges is a beloved and celebrated actor.
Best known for his role as The Dude in The Big Lebowski, Jeff has also been nominated for seven Academy Awards, winning one for his work in Crazy Heart and being recognized for his roles in True Grit, Hell Or High Water, The Last Picture Show, The Contender, Thunderbolt and Lightfoot, and Starman.
The actor, 70, recently made an announcement on Twitter concerning his health.
"As the Dude would say.. New S**T has come to light," Jeff tweeted late Monday evening.
"I have been diagnosed with Lymphoma. Although it is a serious disease, I feel fortunate that I have a great team of doctors and the prognosis is good," he added. "I'm starting treatment and will keep you posted on my recovery."
Jeff continued.
"I’m profoundly grateful for the love and support from my family and friends. Thank you for your prayers and well wishes. And, while I have you, please remember to go vote. Because we are all in this together. Vote.org," he added, signing off with, "Love, Jeff."
Friends and fans alike shared their well wishes in response to Jeff's tweet.
"I’m sure one of the only things we could ALL agree on as a planet is that we ALL wish you well Jeff Bridges. sending you positive vibes man," one fan responded.
