Will Smith Claims He 'Wasn't Crying' During Infamous 'Red Table Talk' About Jada's Entanglement

We've all had moments where a picture or video was taken of us that didn't quite tell the whole story — maybe we were in the middle of speaking or maybe we were about to sneeze or maybe we just were off in our own world, but the end results were the same: an unflattering image that isn't communicating the whole story.

Will Smith and his wife, Jada Pinkett Smith, are trying to give a more clear picture of what went down when they filmed an episode of *The Red Table Talk.*

During the episode, in which Jada confirmed to the public that while she was separated from Will, she'd been in an "entanglement" with another man, many people believed that Will was crying or on the verge of tears.

The couple have come forward to talk about that belief.

"I'm not sad a lot," Will defended himself.

"I think because I drink so much coffee, I get dehydrated and it makes my eyes water. People think I'm crying all the time," Will explained in a video shared to his YouTube with himself and his wife present.

Jada explained that despite how it looked, Will actually "wasn't crying" during the filming.

"We were shooting at midnight because we were trying to rush to the airport in the morning," Will also added.

When Jada added that she had initially wanted to re-film the episode, Will added, "That's what I said. I said, 'reshoot it.' But it played out. Everybody was like, 'poor Will.'"

Jada added that she thought the episode was "too serious" and that's why everyone thought Will was upset.

"They love themselves some Will," Will joked.
