Woman 'Dating Ghost' Says He's Already Proposed, Wants Kids

Dating is hard. Dating takes a lot of work. Sometimes you want to just give up, lock your heart away, and just focus on you for a while.

Others decide to look elsewhere for love -- like the spirit realm.

Amethyst Realm is a 30-year-old British lady who gave up on dating men and started hooking up with ghosts, leading to her current romance with a ghost that she claims impregnated her.

Realm first entered the public eye back in December 2017 after an appearance on ITV's This Morning program in the UK. She claimed to have been dumped by her fiance around 10 years ago after she was caught in bed having an affair with a spirit according to the NY Post:

“It started as an energy, then became physical,” she says. “There was pressure on my thighs and breath on my neck. I just always felt safe. I had sex with the ghost. You can feel it. It’s difficult to explain.”

Caught In The Act

This might seem like something out of Ghostbusters and the imagination of Dan Aykroyd, but Realm is quite serious about her romantic trysts.

According to Realm, she kept up her first spiritual affair for three years before being caught by her fiance, with her claiming "he saw a shadowy shape of a man on top of her" and called it off.

Perfectly reasonable.

Playing The Field

After that point, Realm apparently started to shop around the spirit realm and connect with other ghosts. By the time of her 2017 appearance, she claimed to have been with over 20 spirits. She's also described what being with a ghost is like:

"Ghost lovers tend to be more sensual and adept than the average bloke. There's always more of a connection, because the sex goes beyond physical. It's like any other kind of sex. The main difference is I just can't see them.

"I feel them though, their weight against me, their touch, the warmth and energy that just sinks into me.

"Sometimes I get the feeling that I'm being moved. Orgasms I have with my spirit lovers have been way more satisfying than any I've had with ordinary men."

Meeting That Special Ghost

Like most folks in the dating world, you reach a point where you want to settle down. That also happened to Realm during a trip to Australia, where she felt something during a moment while walking through the bush according to the NY Post:

“I’d not had a phantom fling for a while and as I was away on business, starting a new relationship was the last thing on my mind,” the Bristol-based spiritual counselor told The Sun. “Then one day, while I was walking through the bush, enjoying nature, I suddenly felt this incredible energy. A new lover had arrived.”

The new lovers apparently couldn't keep their hands off each other, or something similar, leading to the spirit following her on the flight home.

Mile High

Realm then detailed how she and her new spirit lover checked off a mid-flight love session from their romance bucket list:

"I couldn't believe it. I was happy and excited - so excited that we had to do something about it. So we headed to the plane loo and, well, I am now a member of the Mile High Club."

There have to be rules!

Phantom Proposals

The couple has been together for nine months at this point, at least according to Realm during her latest appearance on TV and tabloid interviews. They've built a solid base, giving our ghost his chance to pop the question during a trip to England’s Wookey Hole caves according to NY Post:

“There was no going down on one knee — he doesn’t have knees. But for the first time, I heard him speak,” she told The Sun. “I could actually hear his voice and it was beautiful. Deep, sexy and real.”

Realm's family has apparently accepted the coupling and she's reportedly planning a Pagan ceremony to seal the deal.

And Ghost Baby Makes Three

While she's not pregnant yet, Realm has added that she's open to carrying her future ghost husband's baby:

"I've been looking into phantom pregnancies," she said, "and I believe that a phantom pregnancy is actually a real pregnancy but you have a phantom inside you rather than a human baby.

"The reason we don't ever manage to carry these to full term is that people don't understand... But I'm hoping through understanding what's going on with my body, I'll be able to."

Here Comes The Science

Not everybody is convinced by the prospect of ghost romance, sex, and marriage. Some have questioned the use of the term "phantom pregnancy" in Realm's story due to the very real clinical issue also called "false pregnancy."

On top of that, most reported ghost sex isn't actually real sex according to Psychotherapist Tina Radziszewicz in the Mirror:

"Such hallucinations can be extremely vivid and bizarre, and can include tactile, visual and auditory. These hallucinations are more common in young adults and women, and certain other drugs (prescribed or illegal) make them more likely.

"Like dreams, the subject of a hypnogogic or hypnopompic hallucination can often be of something that’s been on your mind.

Not Alone!

Still, Realm is far from the first to have had a sexual encounter or relationship with a ghost over the years. She might have the numbers, but others have made headlines themselves.

Mirror reported on the story of Sian Jameson in the UK, leaving her home in London for a cottage in Aberystwyth, Wales after a breakup. It was there that she claims to have had sex with a 19th-century man she woke up next to in the cottage:

"During the lovemaking, I sensed all kinds of things about him – his name (Robert) and when he lived (over 100 years ago). We didn’t speak – it was as if he was communicating with me telepathically. His body was soft and light. Even when he moved on top of me, pressing down, he felt almost weightless. It was very strange but the sex was amazing."

“I was totally perplexed about what had happened."

There is also the story of Amanda Teague, a "Jack Sparrow impersonator" from Ireland according to Newsweek, who ended up marrying the ghost of a 300-year-old Haitian pirate named "Jack." Google that one.
