Gwyneth Paltrow Reveals Co-Parenting With Chris Martin Is 'Harder Than It Looks'

Divorces are difficult on anyone, but can be especially tricky if kids are involved. While the dissolution of a relationship is difficult, it's even harder to balance that with trying to remain a consistent force and presence from both parents in the children's lives.

Gwyneth Paltrow has opened up about that struggle in her split from Chris Martin in 2014.

Gwyneth Paltrow and Chris Martin were married for eleven years from 2003 to 2014.

The actress, best known for her work in films like Iron Man and Shakespeare In Love, and the Coldplay singer famously made headlines for announcing that they were "consciously uncoupling" in 2014.

The two share two children together, Apple, 16, and Moses, 14.

In a new interview with Drew Barrymore, Gwyneth has opened up about how the two vowed to put their kids before their divorce.

“Chris and I committed to putting them first and that’s harder than it looks because some days you really don’t want to be with the person that you are getting divorced from,” she told Drew.

“But if you’re committed to having family dinner then you do it," she went on.

"You take a deep breath, and you look the person in the eye, and you remember your pact, and you smile, and you hug and you recommit to this new relationship that you are trying to foster.”

Gwyneth explained that her and Chris are constantly trying their best.

“I really wanted my kids not to be traumatized, if it were possible,” Gwyneth added.

"This is about their relationship with their dad and their mom, not about their relationship with your marriage.” Drew replied.

We love to see this kind of healthy attitude!
