Well, we certainly didn't see this coming and we're pretty sure no one else did, either. Red Lobster has announced that they're adding a Mountain Dew margarita, dubbed the DEW Garita, to their menu.
It's just so perfectly 2020, dontcha think?

The idea behind this very green drink was to create something that would pair well with Red Lobster's classic Cheddar Bay Biscuits. And apparently, this is it.
Don't be shellfish; these are for sharing.
"Red Lobster and PepsiCo both understand how much food and beverages enhance memorable moments, from casual gatherings with friends to milestone celebrations," Hugh Roth, chief customer officer at PepsiCo Global Foodservice said in a statement.
So, don't hoard this experience all to yourself.

The DEW Garita's recipe is top-secret, but you can rest assured it has everything it promises — tequila and Mountain Dew. But it seems much as Red Lobster might want to keep the cocktail to itself, people have already started to recreate it at home.
This is not a dew or die situation, however.

The cocktail will be available in select Red Lobster restaurants starting now and will roll out nationwide by the end of this truly bizarre year.
Let's face it, pandemic days are more than a little stressful — sometimes all we need is a fluorescent margarita and about a dozen cheddar biscuits. We just never imagined we'd get them both at Red Lobster.
