It's a hard, hard day when you realize the bathroom scale isn't just trying to be rude — that number is right.
I've stepped on many of those soul-crushing machines and defended myself against whatever it reads as my weight. From insisting someone's messed with the settings to going all the way to the top and blaming the manufacturer, I've never taken the actual number seriously.
No, you probably won't feel too good about yourself at first. And yes, you'll almost definitely find yourself suddenly somehow standing in the kitchen in front of an open fridge, ready to eat those feelings away.
Okay, so your clothes didn't all magically shrink in the wash like you told yourself they did. Big deal! Go out and treat yourself to some new digs!
I'm serious here. We can sit around and be upset about whatever the scale is telling us, or we can laugh about it and move on with our lives.
It's up to you how you choose to deal with that kind of news.
Also, if I'm being honest, it's kind of hilarious to think about all the times I struggled to button my 2-sizes-too-small jeans and then just shrugged it off by insisting I'm just "bloated".
