10+ Cool Facts About Halle Berry Fans Didn't Know

Halle Berry has been a Hollywood mainstay for her entire career. She's one of the most iconic actresses whose beauty is only eclipsed by her talent.

As a way of celebrating this incredible woman, I've managed to compile these 10+ cool facts about Halle Berry that fans didn't know. Have a look and see how your knowledge measures up!

1. She's seriously into boxing.

Halle says that through boxing, "You’ll sculpt every muscle and burn major calories and fat. It dramatically decreases stress levels, develops hand-eye coordination, and builds confidence and discipline. But most’ll never stop learning”

2. Halle has been known to fry eggs...without wearing a shirt!

As you can probably imagine, the internet was positively ablaze after Halle posted this picture.

During an interview with James Corden, the star admitted that she does it all the time!

3. She had her arm accidentally broken by Robert Downey Jr.!

The pair starred in the film Gothika together and it was a freak on-set accident.

"It wasn't like I was trying to fall 50 feet and just fell wrong or did something crazy. I was shooting a scene with Robert and he grabbed my arm the wrong way and broke it."

4. Afters years of struggling, Halle finally feels comfortable being single.

"I no longer feel the need for a relationship so I don't feel the need to rush or accept something that's not totally right for me," Halle stated during an interview.

“People still associate therapy with being crazy. But I think you’re crazy if you won’t consider going to get help for yourself—to learn the tools to deal with the problems in your life. Once people see what it is and what it’s not, they race to go back."

6. Her breakthrough film role was forged in Bedrock.

Universal Pictures

Halle played the seductive Miss Stone in the live-action version of The Flintstones.

As you can see, not a lot has changed. Halle looks as beautiful now as she did back then — even while wearing sabretooth tiger print.

7. Getting her to go topless in *Swordfish* was incredibly expensive.

Warner Bros.

At the time, Halle was widely considered to be the most beautiful woman on the planet (nothing's changed if you ask me).

It cost an extra $500,000 out of the film's total budget for Halle to agree to bare all.

8. She's made some controversial claims surrounding her Type 1 Diabetes.

Halle has, at several different times over the years, claimed that she has either been cured of her diabetes or that she's been able to reverse it.

These claims are highly unsubstantiated and have landed Halle in hot water with the diabetes community.

9. Her hobbies are incredibly simplistic and down to earth.

"I just want to be home for a while and swim in the pool, and I love to garden."

I don't know about you, but I personally would love to garden alongside Halle Berry.

10. Halle made history at the Academy Awards.

Halle was the first black woman to win the Oscar for Best Actress in a Leading Role.

She won for her gripping portrayal of Leticia Musgrove in Monster's Ball. This was Halle's first and only nomination/win.

She spoofed her own Oscar acceptance speech years later at the Razzie Awards.

Unlike the Oscars which award excellence in filmmaking, the Razzie Awards are the total opposite. They seek to crown the worst achievements in cinema.

Halle won for her role as Selina Kyle in Catwoman.

11. Halle enjoys backwoods camping with her kids.

During a recent interview on The Ellen Show, Halle revealed that she and her kids go camping at least once a year.

Not "glamping", either. According to Halle, they pitch their own tents and have to catch/cook their own food!

12. She was *Punk'd* by Ashton Kutcher at the *Gothika* premiere!

Ashton made Halle think that she wouldn't be allowed in to see her own film!

The scene quickly dissolves into all-out chaos and as you can see, Halle isn't happy!

13. Halle almost choked to death during a very awkward *James Bond* scene.

MGM Pictures

While Pierce and Halle were filming Die Another Day, the scene called for Halle to begin seducing Pierce with a fig. Things got very real, very quickly as Halle began to choke!

Pierce ended up having to do the Heimlich maneuver in order to dislodge it from her airway.

14. She was a true Beauty Queen.

Halle represented the United States at the Miss World competition back in 1986. At the time, she was the first Black woman to do so.

This photo is proof the Halle Berry doesn't age and must be studied for scientific purposes.
