Will Smith Told A Fan He's Blocking Him After Making An 'Entanglement' Joke

ICYMI, earlier this month, singer August Alsina dropped a serious bombshell that has since rocked the Internet: His relationship with Jada Pinkett Smith — whom we thought was happily married to the Fresh Prince of Bel-Air?

Turns out, a few years back, Jada and Will were temporarily separated, at which point she pursued someone new, that she now refers to as an "entanglement", and Will is not tolerating any jokes about it, no matter how funny they are!

Thanks to Jada Pinkett Smith, our favorite word of 2020 is "entanglement".

After confirming her relationship with August Alsina during a period of time when she and Will Smith were separated, her use of the word "entanglement" has been making quite the splash on the Internet.

While fans may have thought Jada and Will's marriage was nothing less than perfect, it turns out that there was a lot more going on BTS that we knew nothing about.

At the beginning of July, singer August Alsina spilled some major tea, revealing that he was romantically involved with Jada.

He also claimed that Will was okay with their relationship and had given his "permission".

“I totally gave myself to that relationship for years of my life," he told Complex.

"And I truly and really, really, deeply loved and have a ton of love for her [Jada]. I devoted myself to it. I gave my full self to it."

“So much so that I can die right now, and be OK knowing that I fully gave myself to somebody … Some people never get that in this lifetime," he added.

In response to August's claims, Jada took to Twitter to announce that she would be addressing the rumors on her show, *Red Table Talk*.

"There’s some healing that needs to happen…so I’m bringing myself to The Red Table," she tweeted.

She and Will sat down at the red table to discuss some of their marital issues — airing out their dirty laundry once and for all.

She openly admitted that her relationship with August wasn't just a rumor, it was factual.

What fans didn't realize, is that Jada and Will had quietly been separated four years ago, at which point, her "entanglement" occurred.

"We decided we were going to separate for a period of time and you go figure out how to make yourself happy and I'll figure out how to make myself happy," Will said.

Jada explained that Will did not give August "permission", she gave *herself* permission.

"The only person that could give permission in that particular circumstance is myself," she said. "I just wanted to feel good, it had been so long since I felt good."

"And it was really a joy to just help heal someone. I think that has a lot to do with my co-dependency."

It was evident that none of this was new information to Will.

The pair ended the episode with this adorable statement: "We ride together, we die together."

Since Jada and Will's *Red Table Talk* episode, August has spoken out once more, validating Jada's remarks.

"I don’t know why that word is such an issue. I would agree. If you look up the definition of 'entanglement,' it is a complex and difficult relationship. It was exactly that. I think it's just the language that probably stuck out to people," he said.

"But I definitely have to agree with it being an entanglement. It definitely was something complicated, a complicated dynamic," he went on.

He explained that he doesn't want to be seen as "this problematic guy who was super reckless — like I'm pushing up on someone's wife. I didn't really like that. I didn't like the sound of that, especially when it wasn't the truth."

"I love everybody. I love all of them. They've been my family, and there's a lot of history there," he said of the Smith family.

Anyway, since then, we've been seeing nothing but "entanglement" jokes on Twitter.

People are loving it. Will Smith, however, is not.

Yesterday Will took to Instagram to share a clip of himself jumping rope, from the perspective of the jump rope.

While most fans found the video to be fascinating and creative, one follower took it as an opportunity to poke fun at Jada's relationship with August.

“Ok don’t get entangled,” they wrote, with a laughing emoji.

While the joke certainly hit below the belt, Will was a great sport about it.

“Hahaha… Okay… I can admit it. That’s Funny!," he replied.

"I’m definitely gonna block you. But the joke was Very Funny!," he added.
