Target's New 'At A Glance' Badge Makes Supporting Black-Owned Businesses Easier

It appears we are beginning the great exit of the "retail therapy" era and leaning more and more into the age of conscious consumption. It is no longer enough for companies to simply provide us with an array of goods to consume for pleasure—we want to know where our money is going and where it is being invested.

On the heels of the recent Black Lives Matter protests and movements, major corporation Target is joining the conscious consumption movement and helping make supporting black-owned businesses much easier.

Target has been quite vocal about their commitment to racial equity and social justice.

In response to the recent global protests and demonstrations surrounding police brutality against black people, Target laid out their commitments on their website.

On top of that, Target just created a new "At a glance" badge to make supporting black-owned or founded brands so much easier.

You'll see this section right below in the "About This Item" section, right below the product listing.

It's a simple change, but it sure is mighty.

We're not sure whether or not there will be badges similar to this in-store, or if you'll be able to better search black-owned and founded businesses on their site, but this is a great step in helping consumers know exactly where they're putting their money and who they're supporting behind the product.

As if we needed any more reason to shop at Target! They just keep getting better and better.
