Kanye West Announces He's Running For President In 2020

Just when we thought 2020 couldn't get any more interesting, Kanye West decided to throw another plot twist into the mix!

The famous rapper and husband to Kim Kardashian has announced that he is running for president. THIS YEAR.

Keep in mind, the elections are in November, so this is quite a turn for American politics!

In what is probably not even the most surprising thing to happen in 2020, Kanye West has announced that he is running for president.

Which we're pretty sure is going to rub his pal Donald Trump the wrong way, considering the two have many photos hugging and shaking hands together.

He sent out a Tweet on the 4th of July (it's all about timing, am I right) to tell people about the news.

"We must now realize the promise of America by trusting God, unifying our vision and building our future. I am running for president of the United States! #2020VISION"

Tons of people don't really know what to make of it.

Fans are calling out the timing (we are months away from the election in November) as terrible, and others are saying it's a publicity stunt and that in a few days he will pull out.

For the most part, people are really upset about the news.

"It’s amazing how many super qualified women candidates we’ve had and they get drummed out or drop out. Meanwhile super unqualified men candidates just seem to think we should celebrate their “genius” and elect them. What a joke. The last thing we need is Kanye," wrote one Twitter user.

But naturally, his wife, Kim Kardashian, is on board and ready to support her husband.

While she didn't have too much to say, apparently in 2020, tweeting out an emoji is support enough, it seems.

Fans are eager to see what else she will say.

His friend, Elon Musk, also endorsed the rapper, giving his full support.

Most people were surprised to learn that the two are even friends at all, never mind best friends.

But hey, we learn something new every day, no matter how weird.

The question people are currently asking themselves (myself included), is how serious he is about running for president, especially considering the election is in November.

Right now, it's all one long waiting game.
