Lisa Kudrow Opens Up About Not Rewatching 'Friends' In Reunion Chat With Jennifer Aniston

Watching Jennifer Aniston and Lisa Kudrow discuss the upcoming Friends reunion — which was postponed due to the pandemic — on Variety Studio: Actors on Actors was pretty much the greatest thing I have ever seen, for obvious reasons.

But what was surprising, was to hear Lisa open up about why she doesn't re-watch watch any Friends episodes.

If you are anything like me, you have seen every single episode of *Friends* at least 20 times.

I'm not ashamed to admit that as soon as I finish the series, I simply start it over again.

I, essentially, have it playing on an infinite loop on Netflix.

And when you found out that a *Friends* reunion was finally confirmed after all these years, you may have been the most excited you've ever been.

ICYMI, it was announced back in February that the main cast of friends would be reunited for an unscripted Exclusive HBO Max Special.

"Jennifer Aniston, Courteney Cox, Lisa Kudrow, Matt LeBlanc, Matthew Perry and David Schwimmer will return to the original “Friends” soundstage, Stage 24, on the Warner Bros. Studio lot in Burbank to celebrate the long-running series, which ended its run in 2004," *Variety* reported at the time.

(Screaming internally).

While we may have initially been expecting its release to be much sooner, things have justifiably been postponed due to coronavirus.

But in the meantime, Jennifer Aniston and Lisa Kudrow were on Variety Studio: Actors on Actors to discuss the reunion and it was everything I wanted it to be and more.

"Can you remember any episodes of *Friends* that we did together?," Lisa began, asking Jennifer. "We were in every episode together," she added, laughing.

Jen replied by explaining the episode with the fire alarm seems to stick out the most in her mind, but "I don't even think I was in that one," she joked.

"I just remember 'Joey looks at naked pictures of us while he eats chicken!,'" Lisa said.

"Do you remember when you first met me," Jen asked.

"Yes! I do," Lisa quickly replied. "At the table read."

"You remember what everyone was wearing," she added.

ET Canada

"I do!," Jen said. "You were wearing an appropriate, Phoebe Buffay, white, linen, hippie shirt, and you had a bunch of seashells and necklaces on."

"And you had your hair pulled up in two little clips," Jen continued. "And you had these little blonde tendrils."

"I was trying to get into the character!," Lisa said — defending her outfit choice.

Anyways, after reminiscing for a while, the pair eventually landed on the topic of the reunion.

“That will be really great. I can’t wait to do that. I really can’t wait to do that," Lisa said of the reunion.

"Yeah, we don’t know everything about it, we need to say. I think we’re meant to be surprised by some things as well," she added.

“We know it’s not scripted, that we know,” Jen said — confirming that they will not be playing their characters, but rather, just themselves.

But Jen admitted that she feels like they're all a tiny bit like their characters in real life.

“Although I kind of am. Well, we’re all sort of little fragments of them. Not really. But yeah," she said.

Lisa explained that she doesn't watch re-runs of *Friends* because she hopes to watch it from start to finish with the rest of the main cast one day.

ET Canada

“I don’t watch the show," she said. "I’m still not watching it in the hopes that one day we sit down and watch them together."

“That’s something that will happen," Jennifer replied, adding that she:

“Loves stumbling [across] a ‘Friends’ episode. This one time I was with Courteney [Cox], and we were trying to find something to reference, an old ‘Friends’ thing. And then we stumbled on — there’s bloopers online — and we sat there at the computer like two nerds watching these bloopers laughing at ourselves.”

“I’ve done it too. I’ve done that, hours watching bloopers,” Lisa agreed.

“Here’s what I love, is when I watch an episode, I’ll usually remember where we broke during the scene," Jen added.

“You and I would always get into these fits of laughter because you had this wonderful ability to — you were about to hit your punchline, and you would do this adorable thing where you would break," she revealed.

ET Canada

"You would say the punchline, and you would always turn to the audience and say, ‘I’m sorry, it’s really funny.’”
