Pink Says Marriage Counselling Is 'The Only Reason' Her Marriage Has Survived

There's absolutely no shame in seeing a counselor or a therapist, whether you go on your own, with your family, or with your partner. It can be a huge help to have a mediator or a neutral party when it comes to communication issues and it can be a big sign that all parties involved want to work to improve themselves.

Musician Pink is all for this.

Pink has been married to her husband, Carey Hart, for 14 years.

The couple share two children together; a daughter, Willow, 9, and a son, Jameson, 3.

However, in an Instagram Live session, Pink has revealed that she thinks their marriage's success is due to couples' counselling.

“I got a lot of [expletive] for telling people that Carey and I have been in couples counseling with Vanessa [Inn],” she revealed.

“So I talk to Vanessa on my own and I also talk to Vanessa with Carey and for Carey and I. It’s the only reason that we’re still together because you know, I think partners after a long time, we just speak — I can’t say it’s a man and woman thing, I think it’s a partner thing, a spouse thing — that you just speak two different languages.”

“You need someone to hear both of you and then translate it for you, and without Vanessa translating for me for the last 18 years, I mean we would not be together,” Pink said.

“We just wouldn’t because we are not taught as kids how to have relationships, how to get along with people. I mean, what’s happening in our country right now is a perfect example of that," she continued.

"We don’t know how to love each other, we don’t know how to get along, we don’t know how to communicate.”

It's so refreshing to see this kind of honesty from a celebrity about a relationship that many view as perfect or like a fairy-tale.
