Woman Finds Cheeky Note From Previous Owner While Renovating Her Home

If you ever had to renovate your home, you should appreciate this story. This lady was redoing the wallpaper in her newly acquired house when she stumbled upon a sweet note from the previous owner.

Of course, she shared the note online, as one would, and everybody totally loved it. Has that ever happened to you? I want to know your stories.

Charlotte Morrison from London, England got an unexpected surprise when she was redecorating her home.

Like many others around the world, Charlotte found herself with some extra time on her hands because of the pandemic. She was looking for something interesting to do to pass the time at home.

She set her sights on changing the wallpaper in her front room.

As she began removing the old wallpaper, she was surprised to find a note from the previous homeowner that had been tucked away.

Charlotte decided to share her unusual discovery on Facebook.

Her photo of the letter quickly went viral and has been shared over 14,000 times to date on the platform. But what did this mysterious note say? Well, whoever left it definitely had a sense of humor.

The note read “If you ever need to wallpaper this room again, it will take 8 rolls of wallpaper."

The note went on to say, "I bought just six rolls at $17 per roll on 5/12/97 and didn’t have enough. It really pissed me off.”

LOL! Not what you would expect to find while redoing your wallpaper.

The note was signed by Jon and dated December 21, 1997.

Charlotte thought it was really considerate of this person to leave a kind note behind, so she wouldn't make the same mistake as well.

As Charlotte's post began making its rounds on the internet, many wondered if they would be able to track down Jon.

When you find something like this, your natural instinct is to want to find out what happened to the original owner.

Thanks to the power of the internet, Charlotte was actually able to track Jon down.

She shared an update on Facebook saying that one of Jon's relatives contacted Charlotte and confirmed that he wrote the note. As it turns out, Jon dislikes social media so he never saw the original post go viral. Of course!

Charlotte isn't the first person to find an odd note or object from the previous owner.

And by "object", I mean a feral cat that lives in the backyard. You heard me right. That's exactly what happened to a new homeowner in Washington. She got a letter from the previous owners asking her to take care of the wild cat that had been living the backyard for over a decade. I kid you not.

And this is the new friend they have now acquired in addition to their new home.

OMG, look at that face. I bet he's thinking, "Who the heck are these new people disturbing my peace?" I'm dying here.

Well, how can you say no to a face like that? So, she didn't.

They honored the request of the previous homeowners and affectionately named the cat Razum Dar, or Raz for short. And he's still hanging in their backyard.

It looks like he doesn't mind the change in ownership of the house one bit.

I gotta say, I wouldn't mind having a little friend like that to take care of. He might be feral but he looks pretty calm.

Oh my goodness. I dunno which story I actually like better between these two. Ha, ha!

It's always great to get some help renovating a place somebody else has owned before. But then again, who can resist a cute kitty? I guess it goes to show that you never know what you'll find when you move into a new home.
