Sheldon Cooper without question is a beautiful mind. His quirky, often annoying antics, helped make The Big Bang Theory one of the most beloved sitcoms in the history of television.

1. His favorite superhero is The Flash.
Not only does Sheldon wear t-shirts emblazoned with the emblem of the Scarlet Speedster, but Sheldon has also dressed up as The Flash for Halloween on a few separate occasions.
Who could forget his classic “zoom, zoom, zoom!”
2. Sheldon is completely obsessed with the number 73.
He reasons that “73 is the 21st prime number . Its mirror, 37, is the 12th and its mirror, 21, is the product of multiplying 7 and 3,” and “in binary 73 is a palindrome, 1001001, which backwards is 1001001.”
3. His love of trains.
In his own words: “The tinier the train, the more concentrated the fun!”
Fans were introduced to Sheldon’s love of trains early on and over the years it became one of his most endearing quirks.
4. He’s a talented musician.
Who could forget Sheldon’s knack for the theremin? Supposedly, it’s a lot harder than it looks. But Sheldon seems completely at ease with the instrument in hand.
I wonder how you find someone to teach you theremin lessons as a kid in Texas?
And not a half-bad singer either!
One of the funniest moments in the early episodes is when Leonard returns home to find Sheldon and his mother playing Rock Band.
The flamboyant act is so out of character, it makes it all the more enjoyable!
5. Sheldon’s laptop is for serious gamers only.
Have you ever noticed the alien head on Sheldon’s laptop? It’s the logo for a brand of computer called Alienware .
These are some of the most expensive and sought-after gaming laptops available on the market.
6. He has an eidetic memory, not a photographic memory.
The two terms are often used interchangeably but there is a difference. Eidetic memory is the ability to recall and hold memories in the mind like a photograph.
Whereas a photographic memory is the ability to recall lines of text or numbers in extreme detail.
7. Sheldon is an atheist (except when his mom is around).
Sheldon, like Leonard, is a rather outspoken atheist. On numerous occasions, he exposes the gap in God.
The only exception is when his mother is visiting. He not only concedes the plausibility of her faith, but he has even been known to give a blessing at the dinner table!
8. His first kiss was with Leonard’s mother!
What a kiss it was! Granted, Sheldon really didn’t have much say in the matter, it was happening with or without his consent.
It’s kind of funny how he’ll always be able to hold this over Leonard’s head.
9. Sheldon is not only one of the smartest people alive, he’s one of the most intelligent beings to have ever lived.
If we are to believe that Sheldon’s IQ of 187 is accurate, he is in extremely rare company. Approximately 1:100,000,000 people alive have such a high IQ.
This means that only 70 people alive today would come close and just a mere thousand since the dawn of humans.
10. He hates it when people sit in his spot…most of the time.
Fans of The Big Bang Theory will of course remember how particular Sheldon was about his spot on the couch.
However, he was fairly inconsistent with this gripe. Howard, Leonard, and Penny have all sat there on occasion without Sheldon saying a word.
11. He has a favorite shape of food.
As Sheldon revealed, his favorite shape of food is “a circle, made up of triangles, served in a square box.” That’s pizza, to the layperson!
What a delightfully obsessive-compulsive way of looking at the world, Sheldon!
12. Even though he hardly ever drinks, Sheldon still has a signature cocktail.
He calls it a “Doctor Cooper.” Take one glass of champagne and mix it with a packet of Splenda.
Sheldon reveals that the reason why the drink shares his namesake is that “he’s also sweet and bubbly.”
13. Sheldon is a polyglot.
Over the course of the series, we learn that Sheldon has mastered several different tongues. He speaks fluent Hindi, is well-versed in German, and has an expansive Klingon vocabulary as well.
He’s annoying in at least four languages that we know of!
14. He loathes the geology department.
Perhaps we will never fully understand why or where Sheldon’s hate for the Geology department (or as he calls them, “the dirt people”) comes from, but it doesn’t matter.
What’s important is that it helped provide some of the best comic relief for those early seasons.
