It's been rough out there for a while, and that's why it's so important to take mental breaks occasionally. It's all part of self-care, right?

Toodles lived in a mobile home community, but after a tussle with a local dog, residents took her to Anne Arundel County Animal Care & Control for safety and a health check.

It was obvious to the shelter staff that Toodles was a nursing mother, so they asked the community's residents to look for her kittens.

It took a few days, but eventually five kittens were found beneath one of the mobile homes.

As soon as the first kitten was placed with Toodles, she meowed happily and soon all the babies were nursing comfortably.

The rescue shared a video of the reunion on the Friends of Anne Arundel County Animal Care & Control, Inc. Facebook Page, where it swiftly went viral.

Of course, if you look closely at the picture above, you'll count six kittens.

Once mom and babies were reunited, they were taken into a foster home that same day, but their fosterer noticed that Toodles still seemed a bit out of sorts.

Meanwhile, back at the mobile home park, someone heard tiny cries coming from under the home the kittens had been hidden beneath. There was another baby! It was trapped among some insulation and had gone unnoticed earlier.

As soon as the kitten was taken to the foster home, Toodles welcomed him.

The babies were estimated to be about two weeks old at the time of the rescue, but Toodles is a great mom and all of them thrived in foster care.

Once they were old enough, they were all spayed and neutered to be ready for adoption.

It's the sad truth of the world that kittens leave their moms, but the first adoption had an extra surprise.

The first kitten chosen by a family was Percy, who had been that special sixth kitten, but it wasn't just him going to that new home.

Mom Toodles was also adopted by the same family! All of the cats are safe and healthy and will get to live long lives in loving homes.
