People Think the Pink Dwarf Banana Plant Looks Like A Flamingo

As far as exotic plants are concerned, I'm a huge fan. I'm always fascinated with plants and flowers that resemble other things. Like the flower that looks just like a parrot, I wrote about a while ago or succulents with bunny ears.

So I was really excited when I heard about this unique plant that loosely resembles a pink flamingo.

Flamingos are one of my favorite birds.

They look so cool and their vibrant pink color is out of this world. So when I found this dwarf banana tree that resembles them I was really psyched. And they're pink, too!

I mean, what? Have you ever seen a banana tree with pink bananas?

That's totally bananas. Ha, ha! This rare pink variety is actually a fruiting plant from the Himalayas. Whoa! I've never heard of it before. That's amazing. Isn't it?

The plant's official name is Musa Velutina or better known as the Pink Dwarf banana plant.

And you can actually plant it yourself. All you need are the seeds, which you can get on Etsy. It's a great indoor plant.

This amazing dwarf variety will only grow to about four feet tall.

It has waxy leaves with a pinkish midrib. Its flowers range from pink to orange, and, yes, it does have ornamental but also edible pink-skinned bananas. That's so incredible.

The fruits will last for months and as I mentioned, you can totally eat them.

They're very sweet but be mindful because they're also full of seeds. This is one of those dwarf banana trees that can easily fruit indoors.

Another great thing about this plant is that it's actually very cold tolerant.

That is pretty surprising to me for a banana tree. You wouldn't think it can survive even frosty winters outside if heavily mulched, but it does. Nice!

If you want to try to grow you own dwarf banana tree like this, get the seeds on Etsy and try your luck with them.

You can get about 20 seeds for about five bucks so that's not too bad.

It sounds to me that this rare dwarf banana tree could be a good choice for someone like me who's not exactly the best at keeping plants alive.

I think I could probably try to get this one to fruit.

Have you ever heard of such a thing as a pink banana tree? Ha, ha!

OMG! I'm totally in love with this. I want to get this dwarf variety and grow it indoors and then surprise everybody with it. Oh yes!
