Ikea Releases Instructions To Make DIY Forts At Home

Every parent knows that kids absolutely love making blanket forts. Under normal circumstances, kids do this from time to time when they get bored at home. But, with the global pandemic occurring and many people quarantined at home to stop the spread of the coronavirus, kids are looking for literally anything to do.

Ikea is here to help when it comes to making blanket forts with their parents and siblings.

Making blanket forts an be, well, difficult sometimes.

Trying to get the blankets high enough for everyone to get inside and finding the right amount of chairs to keep things afloat can be a struggle. Not to mention finding things to put in the fort and make sure there's enough room for everyone!

Luckily, Ikea is here to save the day for all of us at home who are not professional fort makers.

The company, who specializes in home furniture and decor, released some easy instructions on how to make all different kinds of blanket forts for kids and families at home.

Luckily, everything you need is right in your home. And, they tell you step-by-step what you need to grab and how to put it together. The pictures even show the finished product.

You can use your sofa for some of them, instead of a bunch of chairs in the middle of your room. Which, of course, makes it easier to contain rather than taking over the whole house.

They get pretty technical, too.

For professional fort makers, you can get pretty interesting and make some crazy ones, like this Wigwam. It looks like a real special masterpiece perfect for the kids at home.

Some are big enough for the whole family.

You can fit all of your kids inside with this teddy bear. Perfect for story time at night right before you put all the kiddos to bed, am I right?

Ikea knows that some kids are pretty fancy.

This one comes along with a whole chandelier that you can hang from the top of the fort—for the fancy toddlers in your life who have some class. And, Sia, too.

This design is also quite easy to replicate, and only requires a loveseat or a chair. And, you can sit on the other end to make sure the kids don't cause too much trouble.

So far, families have been really doing well with recreating the forts, too.

Parents online have been sharing the end results of the instructional guides and they really do look amazing! Honestly, if you're going to make a fort, this is the fort to make.

Some parents even got lights hung around them and everything.
