In this day and age, it's hard to find things that we don't know about Chris Evans.

I mean, it's pretty obvious that the man is smokin', talented, and a lover to animals.

But did you know that he has been tap dancing since he was a kid?

Or that his favorite superhero character growing up was — gasp! — not a Marvel character?

1. He first started acting at 15:

Get this: his first acting gig was an educational video about the environment.

In 1997, he starred in Biodiversity: Wild About Life. Sure, it wasn't much, but it did help him catch the acting bug.

2. His father is a dentist:

Not only that, but he helped Chris fix his smile right up!

"I'm a very lucky guy, my father is a dentist," Evans told Jimmy Fallon in 2011.

"So I was very lucky because I looked like the village idiot growing up because my teeth were trying to escape my face."

3. He loves to tap dance:

This hidden talent is something he learned from his mother!

When he was on The Ellen DeGeneres Show in 2017, he even treated Ellen and her audience to some toe-tapping fun!

4. He turned down the role of Captain America twice:

"Getting the [Captain America] offer felt to me like the epitome of temptation," he told The Hollywood Reporter.

"The ultimate job offer, on the biggest scale. I'm supposed to say no to this thing. It felt like the right thing to do."

In the end, he gave in after his Marvel co-star, Robert Downey Jr. gave him some consulting.

"I've been in hundreds of scenes with this guy," Chris said about Iron Man.

"Nobody laughs more than him. Sometimes he makes me self-conscious, like, 'Should I be more fun?'

5. His younger brother is an actor:

This includes Fringe, Law & Order: Criminal Intent, Wihite Collar, and Grace & Frankie.

He's cute like Chris, too!

6. He's obsessed with his dog, Dodger:

After Chris became known for wearing cable-knit sweaters in the mystery comedy, Knives Out, he even got a matching sweater for Dodger.

Soon, it became the internet's favorite thing.

7. His favorite superhero growing up wasn't a Marvel character:

For shame! Turns out, it was Batman.

"I probably shouldn't say that – it's DC, I'm gonna get in trouble. But those Michael Keaton movies, those were pretty big, so yeah I'll say Batman," he recalled when asked a fan question by The Hollywood Reporter.

8. His uncle is big in politics:

His mother's brother, Mike Capuano, has served in the US House of Representatives for Massachusetts’ 7th and 8th districts for the past 20 years from 1999 to 2019.

He was also the Mayor of Somerville.

He grew up in a Catholic household, but the family took religion pretty lax which worked out for him.

“It wasn’t forced upon me and we didn’t go to church every week," he said.

Then, in 2012, he told *Hindustan Times* that he took an interest in Eastern philosophy.

This happened when he was a teenager.

“There was a whole religion that felt the way I was feeling. That’s when I thought, ‘Wow, I think I’m a Buddhist,'” he said.

10. His childhood crush was Sandra Bullock:

While speaking to W Magazine in 2016, he revealed that he developed some feelings for the actress after watching Speed growing up.

"We've since married and it started breaking apart, so we separated. We filed for divorce, and I hope everyone can respect our privacy," Bullock joked about them dating in 2014.

11. He once dated Jenny Slate for 10 months:

The Bob's Burgers actress got very candid on their breakup during an interview with Vulture.

"When Chris and I started dating, my husband and I had only been separated for a couple of months. Even though we had an amicable divorce, I think that's still something that you need to mourn."

"Chris is a sunny, loving, really fun person, and I didn't really understand why I should be prudent."

Jenny also said that, while the pair are not on bad terms, they haven't communicated much since their split.

"We haven't really seen each other, spoken a lot. I think it's probably best. I'd love to be his friend one day, but we threw down pretty hard. No regrets, though. Ever."

12. He sees a therapist to help with his anxiety:

The actor has never been shy to admit that he faces anxiety and panic attacks.

“I do struggle. I get anxiety about certain things and press, things like that," he shared in 2019.

"I asked every human being in my life what they thought, and they said I should do the movie, and then I went to therapy. I thought, ‘I’ll talk to my therapist! See what they have to say!’”

Anxiety was even at the root of him initially turning down Captain America.

"You feel very judged," he admitted to The Hollywood Reporter. "And you're a little unsure about who you are".

13. He's obsessed with Disney:

He even once revealed that he "spent hours drawing alone in his room, dreaming of being a Disney animator”.

To this day, Chris and his family still take trips to Disney together.

The reason? He was apparently "too old."

“That’s one of my favourite musicals. I did it when I was in high school. And obviously [Spielberg]’s doing it now, and I called my team and they were like, Chris – maybe Krupke. You can’t. You’re too old.”

15. He was in a Marilyn Manson music video:

This is very off-brand for the actor, but it happened. He did so alongside his Not Another Teen Movie costars Jamie Pressley and Eric Christian Olsen.

It was for the song "Tainted Love" and Manson pushed Chris out of the way as he entered a party.
