There’s some old hippy song about signs being everywhere or something. I don’t really remember. But signs really are everywhere. We’re so used to seeing the expected — stop signs, no smoking signs, and so on — that something unexpected can be enough to stop you in your tracks.
It shouldn’t need to be said, but here we are.
Anyone who’s had anything to do with kids’ sports probably has a few horror stories about nightmare parents. Maybe putting it clearly, on a sign for all to see, will make some difference.

Whether you look at this because it’s colorful or because you just like looking at no smoking signs, it’s pretty awesome. Everything seems normal, then there’s a good message! And then there’s a powerful message about just giving Despacito a rest already.
Times change.
Young people don’t have a lot of political power. But that doesn’t mean that they can’t be political. When you’re planning on being on this planet for quite a few decades more, these big policy decisions really matter.

Some people aren’t political. Maybe this is because the issues are a little too complex to grasp. In these situations, helpful pop culture analogies can give political novices a little bit of understanding.

Sometimes, you just need things to be a certain way. It’s simple, but you’re constantly forced to justify your rationale. Fair enough. Just post a sign with every possible outcome. Hopefully the door stays closed.

Most Americans have a family origin story that, vague as it may be, includes passage from a country overseas to the Americas. Diversity has always been one of America’s strengths.

When people fall through the cracks of society, it can be hard to recover. Little things like offering some clean clothes to someone who’s down on their luck could make all the difference in their life.
Humanity.
For a homeless person, much of society must seem awfully antagonistic. You’re seen as a nuisance, and barely acknowledged. This pizzeria in North Dakota saw that there were people in need, and offered help.
Tough but fair.
English is a prevalent language worldwide, so it can be easy for English speakers to forget that it’s a second or even third language for the people they’re communicating with in other parts of the world.
Quantity is important.
These student driver signs are on literally every component of this car. Look, student drivers barely know how to drive. But we were all there once. Like, give them a break. That’s all that these signs want.
Putting it bluntly.
When someone’s arguing against a preponderance of scientific evidence, it can be tough to know where to begin in trying to communicate the facts. Maybe the blunt approach is best.
Draw the line somewhere.
It’s weird that Nazis seem to be a thing again, even though we fought a whole world war about it and all, but here we are. It’s good to be inclusive. But there’s always a line.
