Elon Musk and Grimes' Son's Name, X Æ A-12, Is Technically Legal But 'Won't Be Accepted'

Hi, hello. Have you heard? Billionaire Elon Musk and singer Grimes have welcomed their baby boy into the world and gave it the most (I'm sorry to say it) insane name of all time!

Oh, you thought "Apple" was weird? Or "Coco" ? Those names are insanely normal and honestly common in comparison to what Elon and Grimes have done.

Baby boy X Æ A-12 Musk is just a few days old but has already made more headlines than most people will ever make in their lifetime! I'm super jealous, tbh!

He is a sweetie though, so friggin cute!

Obviously, Twitter has had an absolute RIOT making fun of this name.

Will this baby see more wealth in his lifetime than most of us combined? Yes!

Does that mean we can't make jokes about his name? Nope!

And even though Grimes took to Twitter to try to explain the name to us ~plebs~ the true gag was that IT ONLY MADE IT MORE CONFUSING!

Who doesn't love a name with a stand-alone X, a dash, and a number?!

However, all this effort may have gone to waste as the name is kinda like NOT LEGAL in California!

Speaking with People magazine, family law attorney David Glass explained why this name WILL NOT be accepted in Cali-for-nia!

"In California, you can only use the '26 characters' of the English language in your baby name," he explained.

Hmmmmm.... Interesting that Cali, the land of the Hollywood rich and famous, has such strict baby name rules!

"Thus, you can't have numbers, Roman numerals, accents, umlauts or other symbols or emojis. Although an apostrophe, for a name like 'O'Connor,' is acceptable."

Glass said that if the couple filled out X Æ A-12's birth certificate at the hospital "with the odd numbers, dashes and symbols, it will be submitted and then rejected and they'll be asked to submit it again."

Eeep!

He continued: "They have an opportunity to appeal the rejection of the birth certificate application but it's unlikely that it will be granted because, again, California ... has been struggling with using symbols."

"They tried to change the [rule] back in 2014 to allow certain characters, accents or umlauts — those sorts of things — and the bill got dropped because [of the cost] to upgrade their computer systems to allow these accents."

Ahhhh, so it's a money issue!

"Anything that has to be filed with the state, they have a handbook that includes this particular sentence that says the birth certificate must be filled out 'using the 26 alphabetical letters of the English language.'"

He concluded: "I don't think you can say it's illegal — it just won't be accepted. So your child won't have an official name and won't have a birth certificate and you can't get a social security number until you have a birth certificate and on down the line."

Is it so bad to say that this is my new fav drama saga for 2020?! I wonder what the new name will be...
