Unique celeb baby names are nothing new.

Tinseltown has got everything from Apple to Blue Ivy to North. But have you ever wondered where celebs got the inspiration for these unique names in the first place?

The first child of Chrissy Teigen and John Legend can thank space for her name.

"There was a blood moon happening, and it was a really beautiful night," Teigen said on The Ellen Show.

"There was a really big, vivid, red moon. It was just gorgeous."

Teigen also got baby name advice from former President Obama, who liked the name Luna.

2. Reign Disick

4. Rumi and Sir Carter

Beyoncé and Jay-Z sure like unique names.

While on the Rap Radar podcast, the rapper revealed that their daughter Rumi was named for their “favorite poet,” while their son Sir’s name was inspired by his swagger.

“Sir was like, man, come out the gate. He carries himself like that. He just came out, like, Sir.”

5. True Thompson

A lot of us thought True Thompson wasn't even the most "out there" of names for the Kardashian family.

Kris Jenner was the one to share the backstory behind the meaning of Khloé Kardashian's first child.

"I’m so excited to welcome my precious little granddaughter True!!!"

"FUN FACT... my Grandfather’s name on my Dad’s side was True Otis Houghton....my Dad’s name was Robert True Houghton...so I am so excited Khloe named her daughter True!!!"

6. Bronx Mowgli

Ashlee Simpson and ex Pete Wentz never really explained why they named their son Bronx, but they did give an explanation for "Mowgli."

Turns out, it's inspired by Disney's *The Jungle Book*.

"'The Jungle Book’ was something that me and Ashlee bonded over. It’s a cool name,” Pete once told Ryan Seacrest on On Air With Ryan Seacrest.

The names of Gwen Stafani and Gavin Rossdale's sons are said to be named after the former couple's favorite places in the world.

8. Lea de Seine Shayk Cooper

The first name of Irina Shayk and Bradley Cooper's daughter is inspired by the model's grandmother, who she called "one of the strongest women in my life."

Her name was Galina.

"The second part is the Seine, like the river in Paris," Shayk told Harper's Bazaar.

9. North West

In an interview with British GQ, Kim Kardashian shared how she and husband Kayne West decided on North.

Turns out, it all started with a rumor that eventually stuck.

Anna Wintour helped out quite a bit, too.

"She told us 'North is a genius name.' Kanye and I looked at one another and just laughed. I guess at that point it sort of stuck."

10. Coco Arquette

Brilliant.

11. Apple Martin

Turns out, it was Gwyneth Paltrow's ex-husband Chris Martin who came up with the unique name.

"It sounded so sweet and it conjures such a lovely picture for me," Gwyneth said on Oprah in 2004.

12. Tu Morrow

Rob Morrow and Debbon Ayer named their daughter Tu. When combined with the last name, it sounds out "tomorrow."

They have a family tradition that they should all choose super original names for their children.

13. Bluebell Madonna

The ex-Spice Girl revealed that her daughter’s name was actually suggested by her mother and grandmother.

The Bluebell has to do with a flower, and Madonna is to both reference the Virgin Mary and the singer.

"But what really clinched it for me was my mother telling me that the bluebell is increasingly rare — so it’s (a) precious flower, which seems just right for my daughter," Halliwell said.

"No one else has that name, apart from the Virgin Madonna and the singer, whom I love." she said.

14. Michael Joseph "Prince" Jackson Jr.

Michael Joseph Jackson Jr. is the late Michael Jackson’s oldest son.

Michael Sr has a few children, and all of them have pretty similar names, that all sound incredibly royal. They all resemble their father's name in some way or another.

15. Memphis Eve

Memphis Eve is Paul David Hewson (Bono) and Alison Hewson’s daughter.

Bono said that the name came from the word "seven", as she was born on the seventh of July at 7 am. Which is pretty cool, we have to say.

16. Kyd

Kyd's name is reportedly inspired by Thomas Kyd, a famous author.

Téa Leoni and David Duchovny wouldn't be the first celeb parents (or parents in general) who would name their children after a famous author.
