Eva Mendes Responds To Fan Who Says Ryan Gosling 'Doesn't Help' Raise Their Children

Eva Mendes and Ryan Gosling have always managed to keep their relationship on the DL, and because we don't see much of them together with their children, some people think it's fair to assume that Ryan "doesn't help" raise their kids.

But Eva recently clapped back and set the record straight!

If you've ever gotten a look at Eva Mendes' social media, then you probably already know that she uses it quite sparingly.

She seems to limit how much access her followers have to her personal life, which is a totally fair thing to do.

There is absolutely no sign of her husband, Ryan Gosling, or their two daughters anywhere on her Instagram feed.

For those of you who are foggy on the details of Eva and Ryan's relationship, here's some background info.

The pair met back in August 2011, while filming *The Place Beyond the Pines* together.

From there, their professional relationship quickly turned into a romantic one.

In September 2014, they welcomed their first daughter, Esmeralda.

Obviously, fans freaked out and were super happy for them.

We love a love story!

In April 2016, they surprised fans by welcoming their second daughter, Amada Lee.

A source revealed in a statement to People that Eva "just hasn't ever wanted anyone beyond her close friends and family knowing more than they had to, and Ryan is certainly private and always has been."

Since having their two children, Eva and Ryan have been more private than ever, with no sign of that changing anytime soon.

In March, Eva replied to a fan's comment asking why there's no sign of Ryan anywhere on her social media, revealing she plans to keep it that way!

"As far as Ryan, I'll only post flash backs of things that are already 'out there' (like pics from movies we did or stuff like that)," she wrote.

"My man and kids are private."

"That's important to me so thanks for getting that. Have a beautiful day. Sending so much love," she concluded.

Unfortunately, to some people, this gives off the impression that Ryan "doesn't help" raise their children.

Recently, after posting a selfie on Instagram, a troll left a nasty comment insinuating that Eva is a single mother.

"Tired Mama. Stayed up laaate trying to make my baby’s 4th birthday extra special since she won’t see the family," she captioned the photo.

"Here’s to all you having a quarantine birthday...sending extra love," she concluded.

"Thanks for your honest comment," Eva replied, "So here’s my very honest answer."

While she could have clapped back hard, she actually gave a super thoughtful response.

"I love women. I’m a girl's girl. I love connecting to women. That’s mainly why I have this page," she wrote.

She explained that she wasn't trying to exclude her husband.

Nor was she trying to exclude any other fathers that may follow her on social media.

Things just got taken out of context.

"So when I say I’m a 'tired mama' and want to connect to other 'tired mamas,' it’s not about excluding the fathers or other caregivers that do so much."

"It’s just me connecting to other women but in no way does it de-value what papas do."

"And why I don’t talk about Ryan and all the wonderful things he does as a father, is because I keep that part private," she added.

Which is totally in her right!

She continued by saying:

"I don’t want to involve him or how he parents because I don’t feel comfortable crossing that boundary that I have set for myself."

She explained that the reason she doesn't mention Ryan or how he parents on social media is because she wants to honor his and her privacy.

"I feel it’s best that I continue to disclose what I’m comfortable with but not involve him or my kids too much."

She said that she doesn't want it to come off as "cagey," but that she just wants to maintain certain boundaries.

"It’s not about being cagey or weird, it’s just about staying private in a public space."

Which, honestly, makes complete sense for someone in her position.

Since she's a celebrity, she is always in the limelight.

Her Instagram is the one thing that she can completely control.

And come on, if Ryan Gosling really was such a terrible partner, we're pretty sure Eva Mendes wouldn't take that lightly.

She knows what she's doing.

What do you think of Eva Mendes' response to a troll that suggested Ryan Gosling doesn't help raise their children?
