22 Designers Who Had One Job And Still Missed The Mark

I'm always so impressed when I stumble upon genius designs that prove some people were born to marvel us with their creativity. On the other hand, when I see terrible design fails it makes me wonder how these folks even graduated with any sort of degree.

Case in point here. These designs definitely belong in the walk of shame and they'll either make you laugh or cry.

1. This Crosswalk To Nowhere

Reddit | funkinthetrunk

Correct me if I'm wrong, but I thought the whole point of a crosswalk was to cross safely onto a sidewalk. What's this about?

2. This Curious Porch

Reddit | zivinkxter

Speaking of going nowhere, is this supposed to be some kind of a porch? But where is the door to an apartment...or anything? This makes no sense.

3. This Useful Cabinet

Reddit | eth2004psn

Why put a cabinet in this particular spot with a knob and no way to open it in any way, shape, or form? Ugh.

4. This Safe Bike Path

Imgur | MysticKnightGaming

In this Dutch city, going for a bike ride is a gamble you take every day. "Will I make it today?" LOL! I wouldn't be brave enough to take my chances, that's for sure.

5. This Scannable Barcode

Reddit | FinnyFair

I used to work as a cashier in a supermarket, so I know how annoying scanning barcodes can be. This infuriates me to no end.

6. This Convenient Bus Stop

Reddit | dataisok

Who's the genius who decided it was a fabulous idea to put a bus stop right in the middle of a bike lane? Wow. I guess in this city, cyclists just have to take their chances or ride on the sidewalk.

7. This Stroke-Inducing Elevator

Reddit | bryanad26

Where is the button for the second floor? Quick, answer right now. I feel like riding in this elevator is a test I didn't know I had to take.

8. These Clever Stairs

Reddit | jeprilgen

Whoever designed this must've thought, "We have to put the stairs right where the fire hydrant is. I'm just going to make the steps go around it." Okay, sure, I guess. You can't say that this doesn't look a little weird, right?

9. This Pretty Staircase

Reddit | Inuj

The person who thought of this design must have said, "Let's make this staircase as pretty and as elaborate as possible." Forget the fact that a third of it is totally unusable. Good going here.

10. This Metal Kettle Lid

Reddit | berlard23

How cute is this little kettle? If only it weren't for the metal lid, which is pretty much a burning hazard if you ask me.

11. This Safe Switch Location

Reddit

Good luck turning this fan on because the on/off switch is actually located behind the blades. Who's the smart person who thought of that idea?

12. This Ad

Reddit | d3db0i

I never understand these ads that wrap around an entire building. You can never see the face of the person without it looking distorted. Ha, ha!

13. This Convenient Writing

Reddit | attilahajer63

If you ever wanted to actually know what ingredients are in these coffee cream capsules, good luck. Ain't nobody gonna be able to read that I'm afraid.

14. These Bathroom Stalls

Reddit | house_monkey

Somebody clearly forgot how public bathroom stalls work when they built these. Everything about this design is backward. If I walked into this place, I would walk right out.

15. This Elevator

Reddit | Panandova

What in the world is going on in this elevator? Can somebody shed some light on this? What are these colors all about? I'm so lost.

16. These Shoes

Reddit | Daft_Serious

Oh wow. I guess the designer of these shoes was just trying to be clever but, to me, this is just plain old stupid. Sorry, not sorry.

17. This Plate

Reddit | EPICFLYINGFALC14

This, apparently, is a clean plate. I dunno about you but cleaning this thing would drive me totally up the wall. How can you ever tell that it's clean?

18. This Dollar Store Item

Reddit | BetterHaIf

If this is how you turn a zero into an eight then I must be living in some sort of alternate universe. Thanks, dollar store.

19. This Sign

Reddit | tanooki_hardaway

Um, I'm pretty sure I get the gist of what they're trying to say here. I just don't like the way they're going about it. LOL! Did no one think that this could be a little problematic?

20. This Carpeting

Imgur | mediagarden

This is what nightmares are made of. If you have vertigo like me, these stairs could mean walking super slow or tumbling to your death. Indeed.

21. These Emoji Pants

Reddit | roksforbrains

How fun are these emoji pants? Oh wait, aren't there a couple of fists right where the butt hole would be? How convenient. LOL! Stitching placement matters.

22. These Comfy Boots

Reddit | GallowBoob

OMG, what kind of boots are these? I think whoever designed them forgot that people don't exactly have hooves. Comfortable? I think not.

Oh my! I really can't believe these awful designs got past whoever was supposed to approve them before they got implemented.

Why not just give me the job? Ha, ha!
