Ariana Grande Calls Out 'Degrading' Impersonations Of Her On TikTok

Ariana Grande's style and look is pretty iconic. The high pony tail, glam makeup, and cat eye is pretty much immediately identifiable as her brand, which is probably what makes her so popular for people to impersonate.

One Ariana Grande impersonator, Paige Neimann, went viral for her TikTok videos where she dresses like Ariana and lipsyncs to her voice.

Yes, despite what it looks like, that is NOT a picture of Ariana Grande, but a picture of a fan who impersonates her on TikTok. It's pretty uncanny.

Ariana, however, does not seem to be a fan.

She previously on Twitter referred to Paige's impersonation as "bizarre," and a recent Instagram story seems to imply that she has not come around.

On her Instagram story, Ariana reshared a video by filmmaker Jordan Firstman, who said he was doing an impression of a meme, saying, "What if we, like, we took a moment, like a small clip from a movie or a TV show — something that, like, an artist really poured their soul into, [...] what if we took a moment from that and we kind of, like, recontextualised it? Like, does that make sense? And we put a completely arbitrary meaning onto that thing that the artist loves so much?"

"Kind of like, degrading it's entire value?"

Ariana commented on the video, saying, "omg can this please also double as your impression of the pony tail tik tok girls who think doing the cat valentine voice and that wearing winged eyeliner and a sweatshirt is a good impersonation of me ... cause this really how it feels ... 'degrading it's entire value' i screamed."

A lot of fans have Ariana's back.

Others think she's being too harsh, as most girls who impersonate her on TikTok are young and doing it because they're fans of her.

What do you think? Does Ariana have the right to complain, or is it just a bit of fun? Let us know in the comments!
