A 'Grey’s Anatomy' Fan Theory Points To Jackson Dying

I have some deepy disturbing news for all you Grey's Anatomy fans out there...

There is a fan theory that suggests Jackson is going to be added to the list of characters that the show has killed off.

It has been a few weeks since the 16th season of *Grey's Anatomy* wrapped up.

And fans have been trying to piece together what's going to happen ever since!

The season was supposed to have 25 episodes, but was cut short at 21 episodes instead.

And we can't help but wonder what those four episodes would have in-store for us.

One crazy theory that has been circulating the web is that Jackson Avery would have died.

I know that's probably difficult for many of you to hear.

But it really wouldn't be all that surprising.

Considering how many characters we've unexpectedly had to say goodbye to since the show started, losing another one would merely be another notch on their belt.

But I'm certainly hoping this is not the case...

My heart can't take another loss. I'm still trying to get over George!

The writers of the show have been finding cohesive ways to bring *Grey's* and *Station 19* together lately.

And the latest episode of Station 19 had some indicators that eagle-eyed fans believe point toward Jackson dying.

The summary of the upcoming episode of *Station 19* reads:

Cheat Sheet

“Ben, Jackson and Emmett are put in a precarious and dangerous position with a potential victim.”

On paper, that synopsis doesn't exactly raise any red flags. But a fan on Reddit chimed in with this:

Cosmopolitan

“According to press release for episode 15 for Station 19, Jackson along with Ben and the newbie are put in a dangerous position. I think that’s a given that Jackson would have been the one to die.”

Obviously, that is just ONE person's take on it. But there have been several other fans who seem to agree.

“That theory makes a lot of sense,” someone else wrote.

Another person pointed out that ever since Sarah Drew, who played the role of April Kepner, left the show, Jackson's storyline has hit a plateau.

Bustle

“Also, his character pretty much peaked and died when Sarah Drew left the show," they wrote.

Long before the synopsis of the next *Station 19* episode dropped, fans on Reddit thought that Jackson Avery had reached the end of the line.

While I really hope that isn't true, I can certainly agree that his most exciting moments on the show are behind him.

Not going to lie, after his firey romance with April came to a conclusive end, I pretty much checked out.

Insider

That being said, rumor has it that season 17 of Grey's Anatomy is going to be the last. It might not make sense to cut Jackson out of the mix right before we get to the series finale.

Season 17 will likely air in the fall of 2020 (barring no further interferences from the current pandemic).

Ellen Pompeo, however, hinted that season 17 may not be the final season.

“Obviously I never anticipated the show still being the number one show on the network,” she told People.

“How do you walk away from a hit? The fans will dictate when the show ends. As much as we think we’re in control, we’re not. It’s the fans’ show at this point," she continued.

"They control how long the show goes. We’ll see. I kind of just take it year by year and see.”

So, in a nutshell, nothing is certain.

Will Jackson be the next to go? We don't know.

Will season 17 be the last season of Grey's Anatomy? We don't know.

But at least if either of those rumors are true, we can say we saw it coming!
