Ellen Pompeo Calls Out 'Old White Guy TV Docs' For Spreading Misinformation

There are two very different kinds of TV doctors — there are the kind that are just actors playing doctors on television shows, and then there are real doctors giving sometimes sound medical advice on television. Sometimes, though, their advice is not very sound at all.

Information about the coronavirus pandemic is rapidly changing and Diply is committed to providing the most recent data as it becomes available. Lately, three television doctors have come under fire for their reaction to the Coronavirus pandemic.

Dr. Oz, Dr. Phil, and Dr. Drew have all recently been criticized for downplaying the importance of social distancing, shut downs, and the severity of the virus itself.

Many people have come out against their comments on social media, including actress Ellen Pompeo.

Pompeo, who has been playing Dr. Meredith Grey on Grey's Anatomy for sixteen seasons, has taken to her Twitter to criticize this other kind of television doctor for having "no idea" what's going on.

Pompeo got pretty fired up.

"The old white guy TV docs who say stupid selfish [expletive] should yes... walk that [expletive] right back... to your lazy boys and sit your stupid asses down in your living rooms on your golf courses where you live," she tweeted.

"Tired out of touch old fools, don't get me started today."

Pompeo stressed that instead of TV doctors, we should be worrying about real life front line health care professionals.

Well said! At least we can count on fake television doctors to keep us focused on what matters.
