Man Cleverly Transforms Staircase Into A Functional Wine Cellar That Can Hold 156 Bottles

Spring is the time for home DIY projects. It's an opportunity to come out of winter hibernation and freshen up the space you've become all too familiar with during the course of the colder months.

One man cleverly DIYed his staircase into something a lot of people might want to give a try this spring.

From first glance, these wooden stairs look like a set of gorgeous decorated steps.

You're not wrong, but they're so much more.

They're actually a secret wine cellar created by Australian builder Murray Berrill.

Harry Potter could never.

Just like magic, the stairs pull open to reveal drawers that hold many precious bottles of wine, 156 to be exact.

Murray also revealed that, altogether, the stairs and drawers cost him almost $3,000 to make.

A staircase might be an unsuspecting place for a wine cellar, but that's exactly why it's genius.

Cheers to Murray for giving us a great DIY project idea.
