Once upon a time, a man named Edward Bernays was called upon by the Beech-Nut Packing Company to convince the American public to eat more bacon. How did the father of public relations do it? Well, he created the American breakfast, of course! That came to include bacon, eggs, toast, and even pancakes. The bigger the breakfast, the better it is for you! Or so Bernays, with the backing of doctors, had convinced the public to believe.
It's wild to think that something so engrained in the spirit of the American ethos was...fabricated.
But, I speak for the American people when I say we're not upset about it.
