Kelly Ripa Is 'Devastated' Over Death Of 'All My Children' Co-Star: 'My Heart Breaks'

Kelly Ripa is openly sharing her grief and devastation after the passing of one of her former co-stars on All My Children.

John Callahan, an actor best known for his work on soap operas 'All My Children,' 'Days of Our Lives,' and 'Santa Barbara,' passed away over the weekend.

“May Flights of Angels Wing You to Your Rest my Dear Friend. Your bigger than life, gregarious personality will leave a hole in our hearts forever. We are devastated-My great friend, co parent partner, and loving father to Kaya,” wrote Callahan's ex-wife and All My Children co-star Eva LaRue on Instagram, confirming the news.

"I had a really bad weekend this weekend," former 'All My Children' star Kelly Ripa began the episode of 'Live With Kelly And Ryan' after Callahan's passing.

Explaining that her "very dear friend" had passed away, Kelly continued, saying, "He was a great actor, a really good friend. One of the funniest people I've ever met."

"He was 66 years old — way too young to be taken from us."

"His daughter and my daughter are good friends, they’re the same age and I just want everyone to know, Eva and Kaya, that we are thinking of you and we are just so sad and devastated," she said.

"So I apologize if I seem out of it," Kelly concluded.

"I really actually am, I'm terribly out of it. You know, forgive me for it."

Kelly also shared an Instagram post of Callahan, writing, "my heart breaks."
