Kelly Ripa Shows Off Her Gorgeous Gray Roots On Instagram

As the coronavirus pandemic rages on, keeping people stuck inside their house day after day, some are beginning to realize that boredom isn't the only side effect of being quarantined.

Ladies, you know what I'm talking about. Nail and hair salons are closed, medi-spas are closed, shopping centers are closed, and it's beginning to show...

While being stuck in the house hasn't been easy on most of us, it has been especially difficult for us high maintenance men and women.

Acrylic nails aren't being filled, hair salon and barbershop visits aren't being made, and you're skipping workouts because the gym is closed. Everything is falling apart.

Thankfully, you're at home with no one to impress.

But there's no doubt that once this is all over, the beauty industry is going to be booming. Everyone is going to be rushing to get their fake tans, roots and nails done, and eyebrows waxed.

TV personality, Kelly Ripa, admits that her grey roots are getting out of control.

Ironically, she didn't seem all that phased by the scare of COVID-19 to begin with.

She received a ton of backlash for making jokes about the pandemic just a couple of weeks ago.

She uploaded a video of herself on Instagram, at her dermatologist's office receiving Botox, despite being advised to practice social distancing.

"Hi everyone. We're going to talk about a serious medical problem," Kelly's dermatologist starts off saying.

"Yes, there's a very serious medical problem going around right now. What is it?" Kelly asked.

"It's Botox deficiency," Dr. Anolik said. "Acute!," Kelly added.

"A lot of side effects. Lines, wrinkles," the doctor explains.

Kelly then begins to scrunch up her face, revealing some of her lines.

"In this time we can notice that there's been a lot of worrying, you can see it is written all over my face," she said.

"But Dr. Anolik decided to be brave today and come into work to treat my acute Botox deficiency syndrome."

After receiving her injections, Kelly says: "What do you think? Did I survive?"

"Is there any Botox left for anyone else, doctor?," she jokes.

Naturally, this joke did not go over well with Kelly's followers. She received so much backlash, in fact, that she had to take the video down.

To compensate for seeming so insensitive, Kelly and her husband, Mark Consuelos, donated $1 million to coronavirus relief efforts.

A source tells People magazine that a portion of their donation would be used for medical supplies, like ventilators, and the additional funds would go towards WIN, an organization running women’s shelters in New York City — as New York has the highest number of coronavirus cases in all of the US.

Furthermore, she and her family seem to now be far more committed to practicing social distancing.

And to prove that to her fans, she has started documenting some of her home-life activities, like her conference calls with colleagues.

"So this IS happening. Tune in tomorrow for @livekellyandryan and watch us learn Live remotely. What could possibly go wrong?," she captioned this photo:

TBH, all things aside, this actually looks like it could be fun.

She also shared this uplifting post that I'm sure resonated with most people to some extent:

"Because it struck a chord. Here’s my It’s OK/ It’s Not OK list. I’m sure you have your own," she captioned it.

And lastly, she decided to start documenting her root growth, calling it "Root watch".

Since we have no idea how long we're going to be stuck inside for, for the sake of our sanity, it's probably best to start embracing our greys.

Kudos to Kelly for keeping it real on social media during these hard times, and not being ashamed to show off her greys!

Especially considering anyone who dyes their hair is feeling the exact same way right now. It's relatable af.

"Root watch week one," she captioned this photo in her Instagram story.

And now, in my quarantine-induced boredom and desparation for excitement, I am fully invested in watching Kelly's roots grow week after week.
