Katy Perry Collapsed After Gas Leak During 'American Idol' Auditions

We all know that reality television is full of drama, but on American Idol, the drama usually revolves around a person's singing talent and whether they did or did not make it through to Hollywood.

A new preview for the next episode makes it clear that the stakes a little bit higher than that.

In the video, auditions are being held as the judges begin to notice a smell of gas.

Judge Katy Perry noted that "I have a slight headache from it. Oh, it's bad. It's really bad," and stood up to leave the audition room.

Fellow judge Luke Bryan agreed that there was a "propane" smell.

Production then began evacuating the building, and the video shows the general confusion and worry as all the prospective contestants on the show are asked to leave the building, including a girl doing her one-on-one interview.

As firefighters show up and attempt to assess the situation, Perry can be heard exclaiming "I'm not feeling good."

It's at that point Perry collapses to the ground at the feet of a couple firefighters. While it is not clear what happens afterwards, Luke Bryan did note, "This is not a joke."

"There really is a gas leak," he emphasized.

While the clip certainly looks dramatic, the show is filmed in advance and Katy would have since recovered. We're glad to know that she is safe!
